Re: New engine, drove 80 miles, bottom end failure and dash full of warning lights.

Was it a business or an individual you bought it from? If its a business you may have protection under s14 of sale of goods act 88. If its a person then you have no real protection as to the quality of the engine. My own personal non legal non binding advice would be to make a firm telephone call to...

Bilsteins and eibach pro kit all the way for what you want the car for. B8 bilsteins are impeccable and faultless for everything from daily driving to backroad fun.

Re: polished up gunmetal rattle can'd '2 (shiny!!)

Halfords paint is overpriced crap with duff nozzles! Google auto paint at Helen's - they sorted us out with some brilliant cans.

And yeah loads of alcohol - really helps the smoothness of spraying and team morale!

Re: polished up gunmetal rattle can'd '2 (shiny!!)

Cheers! Well here goes a brief summary. You probably all know the steps though:- 1. Repair/Prep - helps that my best mate is a panel beater but either prep the old paint to 400grit and check it doesn't react using a test patch or, if it does react, remove the old paint with 80grit and work back up 1...

Re: rev3 turbo - engine/gearbox torque mounts

I would defo measure it to be sure as my rev1 had an 83mm front engine mount although it may have been changed when the car was converted. The subframe mount is the same size across revisions. Also I've fitted the speedsource (red) mounts and they are brilliant - none of the drawbacks that you hear ...

Re: Mk2 with 200sx wheels - pics?

Might be my low's but they definitely do not fit the front of my car cleanly without touching the suspension strut. They are all 8" wide. As said I'm running S-Tech's.

Reason I know is that I had a slow puncture on my normal wheels and tried to fit one on the front which just didnt happen.

Re: Mk2 with 200sx wheels - pics?

I wouldn't just because they won't fit on the front without spacers as they hit the strut (or at least did on mine with tein s techs). They fit the back like so (unspaced and that was when the car was properly low at the back):

Re: Cosmos Blue Beams PG11 - For Sale...?

Awesome build! Brakes look epic...I need some! Are they expensive over just getting minted pads ie Carbotechs etc?

Also put in a request to your Edinburgh mr2 facebook group following on from your mention over on the spotted page like 3 months ago.

Still can't believe I haven't seen you about!

Re: Where to go with MR2 ownership... odd post.

Had the chance at last to get some free time during daylight! Gave the car a thorough was, winter has really taken its toll. Cleaned up lovely and had a wee drive out with the missus for tea. It definitely is a 'special', feeling car, it's the everyday commuting that's spoiling it in a way. Trip ou...

Re: Glasgow MR2s

Had a wee look at your build mate - that is one stunning cosmos blue rev5. If your ever about Glasgow we tend to go for photoshoots now and again - rare to see such an unmolested example so defo give us a shout. Unfortunately mine is far from clean but it drives well and thats really all I'm concern...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rear suspension?

best bet is just to jack the car up and give the suspension arms/droplinks a good pull and you'll soon see what is worn/knocking.

my money would be on droplinks.
