I cant see how the pump was replaced without removing the tank?
Unless a hole was cut in the inside of the car to access it?

not an awful lot. You still got the limits of the rev1/2 head.
I looked into this and it just wasnt worth the hassle at the time for me.
It would mean the head would need reshimming etc and mine had just been redone.

But the rail only holds the injector so the flow volume wouldnt be affected in the rail is bored? Surely its the injector size that deals with the flow volume?
Ive looked into the rev3 ecu swap and they have all bored the fuel rail or used a wolfkatz one.

Nope, u have to bore out the earlier fuel rail for the later injectors to fit
