Re: TYRE SIZES - WHAT TYRES FIT WHAT RIMS - STICKY PLEASE

Sorry of this is me being stupid but I'm new to this, I don't really understand a lot of what you said! Lol, will the wheels fit or would they rub? Someone else may be able to answer if they'll rub or not, I was saying they will probably make your car terrible/unsafe to drive. 'Tramlining' is where...

Re: TYRE SIZES - WHAT TYRES FIT WHAT RIMS - STICKY PLEASE

^ from a driving point of view i'd imagine that wouldn't feel very good to drive. SW's tramline at the best of times (well each and every one of them I have did), putting a really wide tyre like that on the front would make it worse IMO, that and the rear aren't much bigger so you'll be losing the s...

Re: Engines developed a strange buzzing noise

Haven't watched your video but I think the charcoal canister can sometimes make a noise like an angry bee after you have been for a run. But maybe thats a totally wrong answer and I should stop giving any before I get in too deep  (now I have watched the vid - that doesn't sound like the ch...

First part the guides say to 'take the dipstick tube retainer out', yeah ok, how the &*%% do you get to that nut? Honestly, if you are struggling with this simple task you either don't have the right skills or tools. It maybe an idea to stop now before you get in too deep and the frustration gr...

Rev2 turbo thermostat replacement - help needed!

Hi all, So, I have read just about all I can find on the interwebs about how to take the thermo cover off. First part the guides say to 'take the dipstick tube retainer out', yeah ok, how the &*%% do you get to that nut? I can get a socket onto the nut but can't get the ratchet onto the socket. ...

And here was me thinking that 'duderstadt' was some made up word meaning something about hanging out with the dudes checking out cars. GT86's - so passe', MR2's have the heart! Doh! It's like JAE, we team up with both clubs as it helps numbers. MR2s are getting less and less. It makes sense. Doh do...

This confuses me - are you saying you are waiting for 'Blobby V IMOC's resident troll' as in 'Blobby versus the Troll', or more like 'Blobby five, the resident troll'?

I found it hard to believe there's no plate showing date of manufacture on UK cars, back in 'straya we have a 'compliance plate' which shows year, month and place of build - as well as chassis number.

Nice one.

Put your location up on your profile, there could be someone local to you that could help you out. No shortage of parts around here anyway.

I'd say to factor in costs for a timing belt and possible problems with the brakes sticking.

Re: MK2 getting stuck on snowy incline starts

Loved the last week of snow driving, the '2 was great even in 10cm of snow on the road. Losing it on a straight dual carriageway , that needed some fast inputs!! Spinning up with anything more than 1/4 throttle at any point. But they did the trick and no major drams really. Made for a few days of s...

Re: MK2 getting stuck on snowy incline starts

What tyres are you running? Unless you're running a proper winter or all season tyre then you're fighting a losing battle on snow and ice anyway. The vast majority of tyres sold in the UK are summer tyres and then people wonder why they have big issues on the couple of days a year when it does snow...

And the third, well... let’s just say the cars spent a lot of time there over the past year or so, and I actually received a message from someone else who had their car at the same place and the exact same thing happened to him!!!!! Fortunately he noticed it and extended wheel studs were installed ...

Must be a theme for this thread I guess.

I'm 6'4'' or so. I couldn't fit into a mk3, didn't have enough knees to bend under the steering wheel.

Japfest is a one day show where we attend as a club. The GT86 are still there, but they have their own stand.

Possibly, the sun does bad things to you if you stay out in it too long.

I'm trying to understand why JAE was GT86 time and Japfest is MR2 favoured , 86 are Jap too!
