Re: Running gear refresh
You don't need that bloody geometry kit just for the car to drive nicely on the road.

Re: Running gear refresh
have you got an alignment sheet? having the wrong toe/camber values especially on the rear of the car can make the car feel terrible through corners.
Other thing could be the power steering running all the time, as it's supposed to turn off after a certain speed iirc.

Re: Running gear refresh
There aint that many! MX-5 is worse with two sets of suspension arms! It's pretty straightforward once you start taking bits off. I haven't seen a bush kit for a few years but ones like superpro or powerflex should come with instructions. Just get yer blowtorch out to remove the old ones! ...

Re: Running gear refresh
So ya don't need any topmounts I'm assuming https://www.fensport.co.uk/products/superpro-polyurethane-suspension-bush-kit-mr2-mk2-rev-2-3 That has pretty much every bush you'd need to replace, you've got the suspension arm bushings. The tierod or tension rod bushings, although you can always just bu...

Fair enough, but in the op's case it's not something he has to worry about immediately.

Re: Worth repairing? No quote given for labour, estimate?
Mine had rust there but it was relatively inexpensive to get fixed compared to the rest of the bodywork I had done haha.

Re: Worth repairing? No quote given for labour, estimate?
When he says the arb link is broken he's more than likely talking about these https://mr2-ben.co.uk/products/30 Which are a pain to remove on crusty cars and are a failure point, not a massively expensive part but probably the old one will need to be cut off. The subframe thing is more worrying, I'v...

Re: Worth repairing? No quote given for labour, estimate?
You don't need the brake shielding The shocks aren't hard to change, nor is the ARB, are you sure the arb is snapped? and its not just the drop links? For the shocks most of price is going to be the shocks themselves. Maybe a bit of time if the droplinks are shagged but thats gonna add a bit on top ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Gen3 3SGTE - best forged piston?
I mean that was my reasoning, I wanted to use the car with the standard ecu for a while before going with the standalone and bigger injectors and that I was never after massive power

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Gen3 3SGTE - best forged piston?
My build used stock compression 86.5mm pistons from CP.
I don't think there are any bad piston brands, or it's never the point of failure on a 3sgte engine build.

Yeah I just don't like the huge angled tip, thats why I prefer something like the RM01A or the Apexi GT lookswise for a single exit. Although I hate the way the Apexi sounds

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] The Exhaust Thread
I have a HKS Hi-Power, in combination with a BRD sports cat and the hks bung static db tests have been around 89db. Without the bung it's a bit higher, but not by much. Honestly having the sports cat instead of a de-cat made a big difference it's pretty civilised sounding at idle compared to most 2'...

Re: Any Nardi steering wheel users?
I only needed the quick release once I started using a fixed bucket seat. As it seemed to move the wheel away from me, the quick release acted as a spacer and also made it easier to get out of the seat haha. If you've still got reclining seats it's probably fine without, also depending on what sort ...

Re: Any Nardi steering wheel users?
Personally I prefer the HKB bosses, mine is the older style one though. I do run a driftworks snap off adapter on top of the boss for a spacer and to make it easier to get out of the fixed back seat. https://www.tegiwaimports.com/hkb-steering-wheel-boss-kit-toyota-glanza-ep91-mr2-sw20.html This is a...
