Just noticed this on pistonheads, just wondered if anyone knew it? Can't tell 100% but looks like a tintop to me?
Cheers Rich

Two words t-b developments Three letters- Y V S Talk to Simon at YVS performance, he knows Mr2's better than anyone IMO. :thumleft: :thumleft: Simon is building it, without a doubt. Anyone else that I've asked didn't seem interested. Simon seems like a sound bloke (spent 45 mins on the phone to him...

I was told the difference in paint between the bumper and body was due to Toyota painting them in different places in the factory.

Re: [FINALIZED] 1997 TOYOTA MR2 T Bar Rev4 Turbo PRICE DROP
As riveting as the conversation about OP's insurance arrangements, this is not the place for it, it's a sale thread. Also, for the record - if someone insures a car as an NA, and it's had a turbo conversion but they haven't declared it and they crash into someone, their insurer will pay out. Their ...

Re: Does anybody know this car?
Doesn't CAT D mean cosmetic damage that the insurance company deemed too costly to repair and CAT C means structural damage that requires a VIC test after repair? I might be wrong but doesn't CAT A mean no parts are allowed to be reused and CAT B means that parts from the damaged car can be used aga...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] big power for internally gated turbo
I think the YB Cossie engine and the 3SGTE are pretty much equal. Both brilliant engines that can be tuned to massive power. They both have their weaknesses. The 3S with the Rev3 casting issues and the Rev1+2 heads not being as good as the Rev3. The YB 2wd had issues with overheating and head gaske...

Re: turbo - castrol GTX 10w/40 users?
Steve won't need to worry about run in. I will run the rings in on a runway, done in an afternoon. Of course mineral oil, I usually change it way more than necessary. I'll change even after the first prime of the engine. The 1000 mile malarky I reckon is a way for builders to get out of warrantee. C...

Re: turbo - castrol GTX 10w/40 users?
You should be using a fully synthetic oil, magnatec is part synth. :-k Most oils that state 'fully synthetic' aren't really fully synth anyway! Really? There are strict rules regarding describing a lubricant as "fully synthetic". Can you give us an example or two? Think he means they are ...

Surprised to hear you say that Peter, one of the uniform pieces of running advice I've been given is to snap the throttle shut at the top of your chosen rev range and let the engine run down the revs with no throttle applied
Agree.

You probably already know. Be sure it gets running in oil (for beddings engine in) and no ya mobile 1 stuff until later! How long must I bed the engine? 1000 miles? Luke is running in the engine before giving it to me. Everyone has their own thoughts on running in. If new rings have been fitted the...

Re: SMG Rev 3 Turbo ANZ1792
ANZ1792 has just been driven away by its new owner. It is going to France to be cherished I'm sure. I've had some brilliant times in the car and will miss it a lot but time to start saving for a Cossie. I will probably get another 2 in the future but for now I have plenty of memories from ANZ and my...
