Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] re-fitting rev3 gearbox, after fitting twin plate clutch.. having issues :/
Thanks mate, yea I think that is probablythe issue, would explain why it would go in partially then get stuck. A normal alignment tool won't work will it as it doesn'taalign the splines. Unfortunately Nottingham Is miles away from me, I'm in Kent. Damm. Thanks for the offer tho! Has anyone local got...

[Mk2] [Turbo] re-fitting rev3 gearbox, after fitting twin plate clutch.. having issues :/
Ok. So, today i did a job for a friend. Remove his old clutch and flywheel and replace with a exedy twin plate item. Removed the gearbox by method of removing the subframe first, pulling the n/s shaft and dropping the box out the bottom. New flywheel and clutch is on however i did forget to grab a c...

Re: Getting there.. My "600whp" cashpit! WARNING LOTS OF PICS!
Jesus, five hundred and forty horses that`s insane. :thumleft: :thumleft: Lol, its actually more than that. the reading was off by about 30~40 bhp. reasons was - car was so noisy we had to keep the massive bullet proof doors shut and the ambient temps went way up. No real airflow to the IC so it wa...

Ryan, how are you me old mucka!? I've been off IMOC for a couple of years and haven't you been busy during that time. I'm so so impressed with how far you've taken your car since the days of Bluewater. I still remember all the questions you had after recently getting it. I'd imagine you're more an ...

This is pretty amazing! i would be scared to drive this after its all done, just washing the body after a drive would not be enough!
You have beaten me to the rear brake conversion idea too.. What spot caliper are you using? any chance of a look at your adapter bracket??

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Max power from hybrid turbos - who has made what bhp???
Remember that another problem typical with hybrids is boost creep. That was the only real issue with mine, could not stop boost creep in lower boost settings. Reason is the increased flow on the compressor / turbine but no improvement around the wastegate area. Soon the internal WG becomes too small...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Max power from hybrid turbos - who has made what bhp???
Think I poss made the record @418bhp @ 1.55 bar on a blitz k1-380 ct29b hybrid. The thing went like a rocket with that on it! The engine was stock rev3 up top and 2.1L forged bottom. Would have seen a good 30hp more with some 264 cams and WI + 0. 5 bar more boost. It boosted all way to 8, 200rpm also.

Building a wiring loom.. Where do i get wire from?
I am rebuilding part of the body harness to re-position the ecu behind the passenger seat as the boot now being a Bmic is no longer sealed from the elements and the ecu could get wet. The only issue i seem to be having is finding somewhere that sells about 25 different colours of automotive cable!? ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Information request - Rev 2 vs Rev 3 head - Real world advantage?
Interesting Gav.. do you remember who did the testing? Bolton.. its not down to the Flow alone, its also velocity and having big chunky ports is not good for velocity! Think of the intake plenum... the larger it is, the longer the air will take before it finds a path into the runners. Have a plenum ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Adding a drain to the fuel tank
good luck getting the water back out... i had my tank off and i was there for a good half hour trying to get all the fuel out of it. I give up in the end, the baffels make it impossible. I reckon there must have been about 2L still stuck in there!!

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Kill switch?
I have been looking into doing this for awhile now too, for security reasons as well as to stop my battery drain.. i use my mr2 for about 8 weeks a year, and not in one lump neither. My batteries are forever dying and i think its purely due to the alarm slowly draining it away. I did find a relay up...

Re: how do i delete my charcoal canister
Assuming Rev3 turbo+ the two vacuums off the top of the plenum, blank them or loop them together. There is a black pipe that runs from the charcoal canister ,around the N/s of the engine bay and it dissipears behind the turbo heat shield into the tank.. this is the tank vent and you need to keep tha...

Re: That should upset your engine bay airflow nicely.
Apparently someone did a flow test with the scoop inplace once. It did not affect the running temps of the engine what so ever, this was down to the physics of air density and not flow direction. Ie, the cooler air from the scoop will be more dense than the hot air above the turbo/manifold and there...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Information request - Rev 2 vs Rev 3 head - Real world advantage?
The rev3 head is superior to the rev 2. It flows far better due to better designs in the port angles and iirc valves. Once one has a rev3 head on there engine, there is not really much machining wise that can be done to improve its flow design (porting / polish etc). Big 800-900 bhp + 3sgte engines ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] rev 2 or rev 3 what's the difference and how much can rev 2 take
You do not need lower compression pistons to up the boost on these engines with mild modifications. Many people have proved that even serious power can be produced with an unmodified bottom end! You may know a lot about how engines work bob but remember not every engine is a F1 race engine. I am on ...
