Re: Bedford Autodrome MSV 19th June
Its the perfect track for a trackday noob, practically impossible to hit anything and has a good mix of fast chicanes, tight corners, and decent straights. I've found on a hot day it can be quite brutal on the cooling system as a fair bit of the track is wide open throttle, but as long as your cars ...

Re: Bedford Autodrome MSV 19th June
I might book onto this, is it the GT Circuit?
I've got a wedding/honeymoon to get out the way first but if funds allow it I'l be keen to get back out on track

Weight of rear caliper?
Does anyone have the weight of a rev2+ rear caliper handy? or feeling helpful enough to quickly drop one on the scale for me? (Just the caliper, no carriers or ancillaries)
Cheers in advance, Alex

Rev 5 Rear Calipers (Need refurb) SOLD
Hi All, I have my old rear calipers for sale off my rev 5 (Will also fit rev 2,3,4 I think). The N/S piston had seized but the castings are fine and bleed nipples still work. Ideal to refurb yourself or send off to BiggRed and get them back good as new. SOLD (Can post if needed) https://c1.staticfli...

You're right. I didn't actually realise AD08R were only about £18 more per corner than T1R. Hands down go for the AD08R if you're buying new!

Re: Wheel offset query
I tried KU31 on my Integra and wasn't impressed, but that was coming directly from A048R so it may have just been a sort of reverse placebo effect lol.
Not a bad all round tyre if the OP isn't doing any tracktime/fast road hooning though.

Re: Wheel offset query
Just out of interest have the actually tried the Toyo T1R in 225/45/16? Reason I ask is I'd never rated the T1R tyre, I tried it in on the OEM 15" tyre sizes and didn't think they were great, then I also tried them in 205/45/17 and 225/45/17 and thought they were awful, no grip and wobbly as he...

Re: What spring rates?
pbmr2, that sounds pretty similar to how my car feels on the road. I'd swear the front is over-sprung but I need more to time to mess around with setups. There is also the fact that I've just come from an Integra DC2 which compared to the McPherson strutted MR2 has probably spoilt me a bit. :-k Migh...

Re: What spring rates?
Much appreciate all the feedback dude :thumleft: As you rightly mentioned there is obviously so much more to the overall picture than just spring rates but its good to get a decent baseline setup. I think I'l end up swapping these out for BC's or similar and probably will opt for a similar spring ra...

Re: What spring rates?
H&R Coilovers on mine are F: 3kg R: 6kg but with extra helper springs. Have you had a look at the springs, most progressive ones have coils wound closer at one end, where a linear one should be uniformly wound. They should quote a range for a progressive spring especially as 3kg/mm doesn't soun...

Re: What spring rates?
Cheers Gazza. Those are the sort of spring rates I'd assume were common (rear being stiffer). I've seen a few of Spax springs are stated as progressive but these certainly don't feel anywhere near as progressive as other springs I've used, Eibach etc. This MR2 also has very little understeer compare...

What spring rates?
Just wondering what spring rates people run on the their MR2's, in particularly people who use their car on road and track. My latest MR2 (Rev5 NA) came with fairly new SPAX PSX adjustable shocks and springs fitted which aren't the best shocks in the world but they perform OK on the road and actuall...

Re: Noise limits at Bedford Autodrome - any MR2's too loud for it?
Can't help on the MR2 front sorry, but in a pretty noisy Elise with Titan ITB's and 2ubular exhaust I got called in twice for excessive drive-by noise levels at Bedford. They're usually pretty sound about trying to keep you on track and you can clearly see where the noise monitors are placed so just...

Its a brilliant track! What pads were you using out of interest?
Its a nightmare when the race boys use trackdays as a test session, have to be constantly looking in your mirrors and blindspots!

Donington Park in a Rev5 NA 10/10/16
Quick video of my recently purchased Rev5 NA round Donington Park, still loads of room for improvement but I wanted to see how the car faired before I started stripping it out and putting sticky tyres on etc! Despite this being my 5th MR2 its the first time I'd ever managed to get one on track, I wa...
