[Mk2] [Generic] Sticking caliper handbrake lever ... any fix?

Hi all. As above really. Rev1 with Rev3 brakes. My handbrake travel is really high and the brake not as effective I'm sure as it should be (it is pretty firm right at the top). The garage say it's a sticking handbrake lever on the back of the NSR caliper where the cable attaches rather than stretche...

Where to find undertrays ... Mr T?

As above. Does Toyota still sell 'em or are there alternative suppliers? If not is it down to trauling breakers yards? Oh, same question on door mirrors too. Mine has the 'hinge' too loose now so the view is obscured by vibration. Apparently there's no fix so replacement is the only (and expensive) ...

I think I had to wait a week or two for all the bits I needed to be in stock but otherwise I had no issues.

Re: Sw20 Mr2 article in classic & sports car magazine March 2021

Yeah I think prices for good ones will be going nowhere but up.

Already mk1s are gaining strong values and mk2s are now following.

That said it's not like they'll ever be an investment like a Ferrari or Aston may.

Re: Revision 6 headlights

I just recently bought new casings and several of the adjuster bars and various new fixings for my old set which were in a right old state when I took them off the old car and looked underneath the plastic shrouds. All refreshed (and not only powder coated from the factory but also with the extra pr...

Nobody else curious?

I'd be interested to know what was said ... conclusions, recommendations, warnings etc. It passed me by at the time.

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Finished!

Well with a little more rear rubber than the standard rev1 (I have a 20mm f-r tyre difference) and using Dino's suspension geometry settings (somewhere between a rev1 and rev3 set up although I can't recall exactly where the differences lie now) to be honest there's not much 'snap' there .... so lon...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Finished!

No still n/a. Makes more sense as a daily driver and it's the same fun in the corners. Indeed this is 22 years of a rev1 n/a as a daily driver over the two cars and I love the directness of the rev1 set up. I've got all new oem Toyota front suspension with TRD top mounts and swapped in the polybushe...

[Mk2] [Generic] Finished!

As some may know I got the 2 back on the road in December and this week finally got round to putting the final 'old' bits from my '89 UK rev1 n/a gt-bar that I drove for 17 years onto this '91 UK rev1 n/a t-bar that so far I've driven for 5. Refurbished with new parts from Rogue they've just passed ...

[Mk2] [NA] Gearbox oil for Rev1 n/a?

Hi all. Just thinking about prepping for a big service next time around. Am I right in thinking the recommended gearbox oil for a n/a rev 1 box is still Redline MT90? If so is that all I need to identify the exact spec I want... just 'Redline MT90'? Finally how much will I need for a change? Many th...

Cleaning front side lights/indicator cluster

It's been so long I've given the 2 a really good going over I've forgotten how I used to do them. T-cut to get rid of the grime then just wax over? Finally got round to doing a really good clean after I got the car back from the bodyshop and the lights let it down just a little. How do you all do it?

[Mk2] [NA] Cork gasket or sealant?

Getting a new oil sump fitted next week. I've got a brand new Toyota sump and was going to have it fitted just using sealant but apparently there is an aftermarket cork gasket available. Is it worth it for another £20-25 (post dependant)? I can only think it's another thing to fail over time and has...
