[Mk2] [NA] Squeal, Smoke, Melted rubber and bad times :(

So, I've been off work and out the car for a week due to back problems (I got given a load of codeine though so not too bad :P) Thought I'd be proactive today and start weening myself off the pills in time for a spirited drive tonight to give the car a good run. Before I did this I 'fixed' the wobbl...

Re: Need a Clutch ? please read this first re:- techniclutch

A friend bought one for his S3, it didn't fit. They sent him the "correct" clutch afterwards and it refused to disengage so what should've been a one day job on the weekend turned into a 3month returns process and he had to hire a car to get to work. I'd never think of giving them my money.

Re: now I'm stuck in two minds keep the na or go turbo?

I've been wanting a 1mz since before I even owned the mr2. Buckets of low down torque and relatively decent mpg means I could still use it as a daily. What's the average cost for conversions and maintenance of a v6?

[Mk2] [Generic] Goose honk noise from front left wheel?

Hey guys, recently had coilovers, discs+pads+ball joints+drop links all round as well as 2 replacement (although not refurbed) front calipers). Since the works been done I've developed a noise that sounds like geese flying overhead coming from the front left wheel but only after I've braked a few ti...

Never been to Pacific works I believe I confused your car with \/ I've taken the picture out to avoid confusion and also this thread is about your car not mine! Apologies! Guessing it w...

Re: Rev5, cosmos blue NA - Undecided on a few things

So went down to see Luke@Pacific works today, brilliant couple of guys that really know their stuff! Ended up getting my Coilovers, ball joints, braided lines and front discs/pads done as planned and ended up having an autofactors drop off some rear discs/pads as well as you'll see. Got there about ...

Re: 16" tyre choice

Haven't had time to change my space saver after one of the tyres in my 16's came off whilst driving and spun the car 180 doing less than 10mph on a roundabout, I normally take it at 20-25 easy so I've decided my 17's are going on again and I'm gunna refurb my Advans before getting decent tyres

Are they really that good? The tyre ratings on them are terrible

Re: 16" tyre choice

Why shouldn't I mix tyres between front and rear? I thought it only mattered on the same axle? I looked at the ku31's but my dad had them on his insignia sri and said it made the car wallow and drive boat-like. I do like the Ad08's and where I know good tyres cost money I can't help but feel they're...

16" tyre choice

Hey guys, need a set of new tyres on my rev 5, I've got advan sa3r's in 16x7/8. Thinking the khumo 39's on the front (got them on all 4 corners at the moment on my 17's and they're fantastic) but what about rear? I was thinking AD08's but as it's my daily I'm thinking they may wear fast.

Re: Rev5, cosmos blue NA - Undecided on a few things

Got rear ended today on the way into work! Luckily my brake was only half on so both cars came away without a scratch! is this all the leds changed? Yep with the newer and poorer LEDs, see post #1 for how they actually look (reverted back to that) hard to do? at a point where am running out of stuff...

Re: Brake service items / fluid

MrT wanted £120 for just the rear slider kit so I only ended up getting the crush washers. Tbh I've already got coilovers, f+r ball joints, drop links, front discs + pads, braided lines and bleed to do tomorrow. If I could get the brake lines off the stock struts without having to split them I'd lea...

Re: Brake service items / fluid

Going for 5.1 because I'm not sure what it's been bled with before so I'm playing it sad and giving it a good old flush. Brake likes were fitted but removed before selling me the car to "make it more original" or something? I have the banjo just needed washers. How much of a pain is it to ...

Brake service items / fluid

Copy and pasted from the OC Hey guys, doing a bit of work tomorrow and need to bleed the brakes. I'm thinking dot 5.1? Which brand is the best bang for buck? Also going to pick up new slider bolts, boots to cover them and some coper crush washers for the braided brake lines, going to phone Toyota on...

Mine used to do this, last time it did I gave the relay a fairly hard tap and had no problems since
