Website software maintenance (phpBB license) Hosting (UNIX hosting) Server maintenace (hand in hand with above) Event Organising (Tickets, pitches, prepaying etc) Event M...

Re: Crap forum software.
Be fair to the guys on here though, please! This is something they do for free out of their own free time, and it's no small issue to move over to a new piece of software. Psst... I believe the work is being outsourced to a "proper company" who do this kind of thing for a living... and ch...

Re: Crap forum software.
I've been reading up on vBulletin and it's really not without its own problems. The latest version has several large bugs and issues with customization particularly that has resulted in some customers abandoning it...! Shame really, as it was looking good. Be fair to the guys on here though, please...

Re: Crap forum software.
No idea on the ETA, I jumped ship when it all got too frustrating for me :) All I do know is that it would have all been done by now if I had my way  The basic migration could be done in a day. A full day to migrate the database from phpBB to vBulletin using ImpEx. Then it'd take a few hou...

Get some T/C fitted to that and you'll be in the 9's! Great effort dude. Cheers lad, not going Traction control though, should be able to get it down with some more fiddling  Plus i like the fact that it scares the xxxx out of me, snapping right or left at 130+mph :clown: Get switchable TC...

Re: Crap forum software.
I'm not personally a fan of vbulletin from an end-user point of view . Two Brutal updated to vb4 recently and the site is almost unuseable on my 1.5yr old netbook... It's much nicer to admin and creates less hassle behind the scenes than our current setup though. Bypassing the CMS makes it easier -...

Re: Crap forum software.
Given that I honestly couldn't give a c**p about computers, what the hell does Vbulletin make in terms of difference? To the average user who will be logging on, making a few posts, checkign events etc.. It's a bit more robust, will be more efficient and allow IMOC to build it's site on a single pl...

Re: Crap forum software.
Have you thought of taking a cut of the current phpBB setup and placing it on a separate server to migrate into a vB4 installation? Short answer is yes - there's another vhost running off the current server for development purposes. Old phpBB migrations to vB4 are touch and go, though. It's much be...

Re: Crap forum software.
I've tried already Mr G... deaf ears it seems. Not entirely... it's actually underway now! 8) I have done my best to fix any underlying problems which have been reported over the last 4+ years to smooth out forum use until then - the garage has been fully functional again for months now, for exampl...

Re: Crap forum software.
If there's an IMOC migration to vBulletin CMS Suite, you can separate it all out nicely into discrete parts that effectively run with a single sign on. Firstly, the front page, you can recreate that in part of the Content Management System and "sell" the club, and link articles to events, ...

If I buy the car(and a new rear spoiler) will you donate your rear clip to the cause?

I'd donate that if you donated 6000 of the queens currency!
