Re: Help please! Steering issues and hot wheels (in a bad way)

Thanks for all the responses guys - very helpful. Luke, thanks for the heads up about the wheel bearings as that's reassuring to know. Have got the car booked into to have the wheels balanced and laser aligned so if that doesn't sort it, I'll have a look at the rear calipers. P.S. Am loving the soun...

Re: Help please! Steering issues and hot wheels (in a bad way)

Cheers Quigonjay.

Do you know how I check whether my top mounts are on their way out?

Also, is checking the wheel bearings just a case of jacking the car up and giving the wheels a good shake to see if there's any excessive play?

Help please! Steering issues and hot wheels (in a bad way)

I've been trying to track down the cause of an intermittent steering wobble/vibration I keep getting at motorway speeds 70mph+. After reading various posts and having various parts replaced I still haven't been able to get rid of it and it's starting to really bug me (not to mention severly denting ...

Re: Henry's white rev3 turbo

That's great news Jan! Bet your car feels amazing to drive now!

Maybe I should let Luke know that changing the ball joints might help as well - though I'm sure with his expertise it will be on his list of things to look for. Hopefully it gets sorted whatever it may be.

Re: Henry's white rev3 turbo

Good to hear that you got the radiator sorted. Can't wait to see what effect having the bushes fitted to my car will make! Did fitting them get rid of the intermitttent steering wheel vibrations at motorway speeds you were experiencing or do you think you'll have to wait until you fit the fro...

Re: Henry's white rev3 turbo

Hey, good to meet you the other day. Your car looked very nice too :thumleft:

Did you sort out the problem with your radiator and did you get your prothane bushes fitted?

[Mk2] [Generic] fitting wheel spacers

Evening, I've got a set of 3mm hub centric spacers which I was planning to fit to the rear hubs. However when I put the spacers on they only leave a few millimetres of the hub exposed for my alloys to sit on. Is this safe? Also is it safe to use spigot rings after fitting spacers, especially if ther...

Re: Henry's white rev3 turbo

Agree that white is the best colour

Would love to go for the Radtec pre rad but hear they are quite expensive and not quite sure where to source one from. Might have to opt for the ST205 pre rad as a compromise solution as I hear that the Fiat Cinq rads can block air flow to the main rad.

Re: Henry's white rev3 turbo

Thanks guys - appreciate the comments.

Immediate plans include getting the car fully polybushed, getting a matching Tom's rear bumper and a st205 charge cooler conversion.

Then later in the year, some interior touches (possibly new seats) and some further work on the engine.

Henry's white rev3 turbo

Evening all, My name's Henry and I've been a member on the forum for a while now and made the odd post but never properly introduced myself in the members profile section so thought I'd finally do so and post some pics up of the ol' gal. She's a 1995 rev 3 turbo. Enjoy... http://i970.photobucket.com...

Re: Can a Mk2 rev3 Turbo handle regular trackday abuse?

Patrick, what rad would you recommend to go with an st205 chargecooler on a car (rev3) that will occassionally see track use (2-3 times a year tops)?

Tein super street damping adjustment

Hi, I'm trying to change the damper settings for my car I currently have Tein Super Street fitted to the car (came already installed with them) . Now this may be a really stupid question (so apologies if that's the case), but is changing the damper settings as simple as turning the silver/metal adju...

Looks remarkably similar though will have to check when I get home this evening. Only difference is mine has had the tailpipe replaced with rolled aftermarket one.

Re: Pros & Cons of Phoenix Power Dep II Pro

Don't seem to be able to find much on the Fujitsubo Ti on the net (not for an MR2 spec one at least). Wonder if it's any good??? If it is and it is indeed a Ti and is as light as you say it is then I'd be even more torn as to whether to fit the Dep II Pro.

Re: Pros & Cons of Phoenix Power Dep II Pro

Bry, thanks for the heads up about the gaskets. I'll have a look around the Fensport website to see if I can order a set. Jim, I must admit the exhaust does look awesome but do you think the performance gains outweigh the weight of the exhaust? I currently have a pretty stock set-up with the only en...

Pros & Cons of Phoenix Power Dep II Pro

I've recently purchased a second hand Phoenix Power Departure II Pro but since having my Fujitsubo single exit exhaust repaired I've been umming and ahhing over whether to fit it as all the disadvanges seem to outweight the benefits of fitting it. 1. It weighs signficantly more than my current exhau...
