Intercooler conversion

FastGrant, Thats right. It involves boxing the Greddy intercooler thus it becomes a chargecooler. I had the Greddy already so it was cheaper than buying the radtech system. It cost very little to do. Instead of using the fiat rad at the front which took up so much room, we built a smaller rad becaus...

Cams

Hi Chris Thanks for the parts. You may remember what I said when we met! You could save yourself a fortune right now. A guy called Chris is selling a well modded MR2 on here for £7300. It's a cracker! Given that its all in working order, its an absolute bargain. You'll save yourself £13k. Everything...

Custom Chargecooling

I haven't read the whole thread but I get the idea. I bought a ST205, but when I gave it to my friend who builds privateer rally vehicles. He wasn't impressed so he did something else. The fact that it sits above the engine appears pathetic and is the reason why such a large rad is used with it. So ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Ebay JDM Ball Bearing Turbo

Ok, but you don't think it is impossible then? ie, completely different flanges. masses of welding etc. Iv'e imported parts from US before that were extremely cheap but turned out to be good parts I've not had any bad experiences so far. Yes I can see its a copy of the Garret Turbo, worth a punt tho...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Head bolts

£100 spent now will be £500 saved later!

Very few people can resist the temptation to constantly modify. If I could go back 4 years I'd have done the lot in one go - It would have saved a fortune !

Go for the forgies too.

Re: Tubby vs Merc 500 SL

It has been mapped cautiously & I beleive it'll rev to 7500 rpm but has been rev limited otherwise they wouldn't honour the engine build warranty (thats what they said).

It produces power all the way

Tubby vs Merc 500 SL

Coming home from sunday work. On the roundabout at Hemel and about to merge with A41 bypass when find a black 500 SL inches from my bumper weaving side to side. "yes, lets have a little go then," me thinks. Cars in front - I drop down to second - engine wailing like a banshee. They all pul...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] CT26 Hybrid

Dont buy precision mechanical & electrical products abroad. Think of the potential aggro if you have to return it. Lots of traders on this site can supply your needs and give guarantees.

Ive made loads of mistakes and its cost me big time!

Dont do it.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] What does a turbo timer do exactly?

Allows the engine to continue running having removed the key from ignition in order to allow the turbo to cool down after a blast.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Can i run 1.2bar safely with Berk?

1.2 Bar should be fine. I was running 1.2 bar with standard intercooler & water injection. You'll need to dig deep to go further!

I was making 275lb torgue and just over 290 bhp
