Re: New member introducing themselves, now with pics!

Yes, it was a worrying time, but thank goodness they were okay.
Tough little bits of kit are these Roadsters! 8)

Thanks from me as well John, it was good of you to fit me in at short notice. Quite happy with my 205bhp and 220lbft. :)

Re: Batteries for the Roadster - Standard and Upgraded

I have a red top battery that I put in my Roadster recently and it cranks brilliantly when cold, much better than the Bosch one I had before.
The V6 takes a lot of cranking when cold and the battery is more than up to the job.
I imagine the yellow top is better still.

Re: hard top fitting kit

The daft thing is that is NOT a full kit! There is no demister cable with it. That will cost a few bob to supply, and bearing in mind those bolts may not be as fresh as when they were made, a new one sounds a better bet for that sort of money. It does seem a lot of money for what it is, but you are ...

Toyota themselves or Chris at cheaptoyotaparts. Fitting kits usually run to around the £250 mark.

As far as I remember, the 6 speed box is slightly longer and heavier than the 5 speed.

Re: How much power can you get out of the mk3?

Thing is the Roadster is all about going round the corners. That's where its most fun. Fun is what its all about, not massive power really.
If a straight line dragster is desired, there are better alternatives for that.

Re: rear brake pads mr2 mk3

No Greg, the pistons actually have to rotate back in. If you try and compress with a G clamp, you'll do some damage. Fronts compress like this, but rears wind back in. You really need a windback tool.

Re: rear brake pads mr2 mk3

The piston winds back in. A special tool helps.
The procedure for adjusting things up is very similar Greg.

Re: mk3

Greg, your 2 will be brilliant mate. Looking forward to having a spin out in it. :thumleft: A V6 powered Roadster is great to drive and lends itself to any driving style you want. The turbo'd 1zz isn't a bad lump either, and there are some excellent examples of those about as well. The Mk3 is all ab...

My V6 doesn't have pipework in the chassis rails either.
Woodsport have done a fantastic job of the install and made the Roadster an absolute peach to drive. :thumleft:
