[Mk2 Turbo] Oil Filter Part Number

Hi

Got an oil filter for my tubby from Mr T today. Went in with part number 90915-10004. However the guy gave me one with the part number 90915-TA002 and said that this superseded the old part. Does anyone know if this is true?

Cheers

Re: [Mk2 ] Putting diesel in a Mk2's tank

Read something in the paper the other day about petrol in diesel cars. Apparently this is a much worse problem because modern diesels prime the engine as soon as you open the door (so that the engine starts quicker) - you don't even have to try to start the engine to cause problems!

Red letter days is on dodgy ground financially at the moment - probably best to avoid.

Re: Where to get 4-wheel alignment in Hampshire?

If you go to Micheldever Tyres, give them a ring first - the last time I spoke to them they wanted a booking for a full alignment and would only do it on week-days.

Re: Ignition lead no 3 blowing off under high Boost/RPM...

What ignition leads are you using? This has been known to be a problem with Magnecor leads due to blocked breather holes - if this is the case look in the knowledge base for a fix.

Re: Which make of discs to use?

Try Brakes International (listed in the affiliates section) for cheap Toyota-equivalent standard disks - I think they are ~£60 for a front pair and £50 for a rear pair.

Re: just my opinion.

Another thing to remember is that all the "supercars" are designed to drive at 150mph all day on the autobahn, or to do speeds in excess of 200mph, and still maintain reliability and comfort. Its easy to build a quick car with no comfort (e.g. Caterham), or to tune an MR2 to produce silly ...

Mk2 Na vs. turbo re-buildable struts

Hi

I am thinking of fitting a set of Konis to my 97 turbo, and since I don't have re-buildable struts I need to obtain some. Am I correct in believing that the struts from an Na are identical to those of a turbo?

Cheers

Re: Buying ramps

Another issue to bear in mind is that finding ramps wide enough for the rear tyres can also be a problem.

Re: Window tinting tomorrow

I could be wrong, but I think it is now illegal to tint any windows forward of the B-pillar, so tinting the side windows is not road legal. :(

1997 Turbo Suspension upgrade

Hi

Can anyone recommend a sensible suspension upgrade for a '97 turbo? Not really interested in coilovers as it is for road use.

Alternatively, can anyone confirm if it is true that earlier re-buildable struts fit straight onto later cars, and if so, has anyone got a spare set :) ?

Re: Did anyone buy those £25 dizzy caps

If it was one of the copper caps from Ben F. then don't worry, they can take a little time - he has to buy the parts and hand mod them.

Re: He was playing with me......

Had a section on it in this month's EVO. Costs £83k standard, 385bhp. They compared to a Corvette and a TVR Tuscan mk2, both of which were nearly half the price and significantly faster.
