The injectors that came off the engine are part number 23250-16010, have a grey square plug and are 2.0 Ohms.
The spare injectors I have are part number 23250-16070, have a pink rounded plug and are 2.4 Ohms.
I don't know if they are close enough?

Ok, thanks again, before I do anything else I'll double check later what I have said above is correct, I am beginning to doubt myself

Re: Lauren's 4AGE build by Tom (Icunonsove)
Thanks Paul. I have the old (modified) ECU that was fitted when Lauren bought the car and I will get the part numbers off this and the one that is now fitted. It's all a bit confusing :? I have absolutely no idea whether the setup was correct or not at the moment. I need to leave this to Lauren to s...

Re: Lauren's 4AGE build by Tom (Icunonsove)
Ok, thanks for that Paul. :thumleft: Does Laurens 86 have a resistor pack Tom? If it does then pink ones will be fine, if not then Mk1a injectors will be the ones to use. No it doesn't. ....The ECU should cope with this change, they are similar impedance. Basically the injectors that were fitted hav...

Re: Lauren's 4AGE build by Tom (Icunonsove)
It's not an electrical fault, that's all I know. I've tried all sorts including ultrasonic cleaning and it still won't work , I've wasted too much time on it  and now things have moved on in any case.... Those injectors are no longer available from Toyota. In fact no AE86 injectors a...

Re: Lauren's 4AGE build by Tom (Icunonsove)
Thanks Gary. I've explained it all to Lauren and it's up to her what to do next. It doesn't stop the engine rebuild, everything can be done, just means the engine can't be started until the injectors are sorted. The part number of the injectors fitted are 23250-16010, it has a grey square plug that ...

Re: Lauren's 4AGE build by Tom (Icunonsove)
That's a nice rig Tom, i like that a lot. Thanks Paul. Will you be accepting donations for injector testing now Tom?  Alex, shortly I will be working away for a while so won't be around. Certainly if someone needs to borrow it they can as long as I get it back. Presumably No. 4 was the...

Re: Lauren's 4AGE build by Tom (Icunonsove)
Well I ended up making an air powered test rig and one of the injectors is faulty. So that's good news, problem found :thumleft: If it's of any interest to others: Test rig build part 1: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151446072541833.543115.765326832&type=1&l=490b1e1848 Test rig ...

Thank for reply Paul
I'd asked Mark (Lauren's other half) whether they'd got a spare pump and he said no. Lauren assures me she's got one though......

Can I borrow a working fuel pump? Anyone in Manchester or Stoke areas?
As above, I just want to test some injectors and am bodging up a rig to do it. It's going to be awkward to use the car's fuel pump so am looking just to borrow a pump to do it off the car. Obviously I don't want to start removing fuel tanks etc so am wondering if I could borrow one that's already ou...

Re: shim bank and valve adjustment tool
Thanks for replies
Yeah, thinking about it I don't think I will need shims, I can always take material from the valve stem if I haven't got all the right shims.

Re: no crankpulley timing marks
If you think the timing is correct and you just want to service the distributor you don't need the crankshaft timing marks. Just mark the adjustment position with tippex and a scribe and the rotor position with tippex. There's only 13 teeth (28 degrees per tooth) on the distributor drive so you'll e...

Re: Braided Brake Hose Adapter
Sean, M10 x 1.0mm pitch is not interchangeable with 1/8" BSP
1/8" BSP is 28 threads per inch and has an outer diameter of 9.7mm.
M10 x 1.0 is obviously 25.4 threads per inch and has an outer diameter of 10mm.
This is dangerous.

Re: Head Gasket or Rings or something else?
Leak down testers are very useful :thumleft: I've misplaced (or lent out :? ) my 18" straight edge (or flat block) that I was going to lend to Lauren to check flatness of the head and block so I made another one. It's made from 1 1/2" (38mm) square ground square grade 01 tool steel! :shock...

I take it you'll be helping ? Well not unless I have to, I've had enough of engines this week. There's only so many pairs of hands you can utilise before people start getting in the way. Anyway, it's hard work working with Lauren, she's like a bull in a china shop and wants everything done ye...
