I've just ordered a new set of alloys that were 7.5x17 and have gone for 215/40 front and 235/40 rear.
Check this link for a calculator which tells you difference between these and your old wheels. The 235/40 will give more accurate speedo readings.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] My new wheels just ordered (New pics added 10/05/08)
The standard 15" toyota alloys are only 7j and have a 225 on and they seem ok to me . So i would have thought a 235 on a 7.5 would also be ok.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Greddy Profec ebc how to get boost just right.
I've recently been tweaking my settings on my greddy profec ebc trying to eliminate a boost spike i was getting. I've managed to get boost to come upto desired amount (1bar) lo and (1.15bar) hi setting without spiking/overboost. It then holds well but does seem to tail off by 1 or 2psi towards end o...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Boost setting, spikes etc Profec B
I've had my greddy profec spec II fitted a while now and upon answering another post have realised my setting isn't quite right. Problem i have is i get a boost spike then it boosts up nicely and seems to hold ok. In 3rd gear when planting it from approx 2000rpm, revs pick up turbo comes in and then...

Thats a nice boost curve, doubt mine would look like that. Think i best go out and set my ebc a bit better.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Greddy profec b install
For setting have a read thro this post : Clicky The post advises you to start with the set % figure at around 30, on my car it needed to be at about 50% before boost started to increase. Its pretty tidious getting it right to hold boost without big boost spikes, mine will still overboost if i floor ...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Performance figures
I used to own a 91 J-reg uk spec t-bar with leather, it ran 15.2 1/4 mile @90mph all day long at santa pod with 0-60mph being despensed in 7.2sec. If you get a early tintop model with cloth you may be a touch quicker as i believe the leather and t-bar option is a heavier car. Only mod's i had to ach...

Good spot. I just went out and measured the difference, and the drivers side is slightly lower but less than 1cm approx 7mm i'd say. Think you deserve a

Yep i'm pretty happy with it, best viewed from a distance as close up you will see the white sealant. Defiantly makes it look lower and more aggressive thou.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Border rear spats finally fitted.
Have finally got my border spats fitted and relatively straight...eventually. Wish i had some good fitting spats to start with as its been hard work getting them to fit, i had them fitting pretty flush then noticed when viewed from a distance they were not sitting straight and the bits over the exha...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Question On Fitting Border Spats
I've managed to trial fit spats see pic, they will just need little bit of filler adding to remove gaps. Also they will need priming and spraying and bonding to give good fit. They aint looking too bad considering they haven't undergone much prep work yet http://a82.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Question On Fitting Border Spats
Trial fitting didn't go that well. I managed to remove toyota ones easily enough although most of bolts snapped off. Upon trial fitting i'm still get a good sized gap at the point just back from rear wheel arch at the top of spat where it meets bumper. Also am having to use a fair bit of force to ma...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Question On Fitting Border Spats
It looks like the toyota ones do have to come off then or the least be cut in order to give a good fit. The pic shows how much lower the border spats sit in comparison to the existing one hence why they look much better. Roll on the weekend so i get the old ones off and trial fit the new ones. Thanx...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Its amazing what a bit of polishing does
The aluminium comes up pretty easily, i sanded it with rough paper, next with a finer grade. Then used some scotch brite followed up with some metal polish wadding to give the good finish. It isn't perfect but is a vast improvement on the standard rough cast finish.
