Looks very much like detonation dude.

If you can afford forgies I would still fit them as it will save you a job later if you plan for more ponies!!

Will save you having to re-strip you lump down at a later date. :thumleft:

If your going down the route I'm going down then the rev1/2 fuel rail is not compatable with the rev3 head.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Urgent exhaust help needed...

Yeah the oil check dipstick.
Your downpipe will probably be bolted staright on at the turbo then again at the mid section.

Undoing it at the turbo can be a bit fiddly! Not a bad job tho.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Urgent exhaust help needed...

Oh yeah might be wise to take similar sized spanners with you mate and to get your downpipe off you will need a 10mm to undo the dipstick with.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Urgent exhaust help needed...

What type of downpipe is it?

Ramps should be fine mate did mine on axel stands first time then had it off again after running for a while to change the manifold which I did on a proper lift at work was a bit easier.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Urgent exhaust help needed...

Should be fairly easy if you already have an aftermarket exhaust fitted you should just need a ratchet, some extensions and some sockets if you take 10,12,13,14,16,17mm sockets you should have most of it covered at that. Start with the 3 bolts from your downpipe (exhaust side of the engine). Then un...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] rev 3 head on a rev1 block??>?

Hi guys looks like i'm off down this line.

What is the issue with the cambelts?

Why does the headgasket need drilling for the water ways? Will a rev 3 head gasket not fit a rev 1 block?

Also will the rev 1 inlet fit on a rev 3 head?

Is there anythings else involved?

Thanks Guys
