Re: [Mk2] [NA] ODB readers

I never found an OBDII port on any of my UK rev5s... your code reader is a paperclip and counting flashing lights to get codes.

Re: No high beam indicator light

LED (or HID) bulbs will always stop the high beam tell-tale from working. That's because it draws it's current through the low beam filament (genuinely - check up the wiring diagram if you don't believe me - http://shinny.co.uk/toyota/MR2_SW_1993_ELECTRICALWIRINGDIAGRAMS/hdlitusa.pdf) and the much h...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Battery upgrade

096 fits with a spacer underneath. Big heavy xxxxx though. Yup! I did it with a bit of cutting to the battery tray and a DIY tie-down bar, while madbasshunter used a 12mm spacer instead https://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1663981#1663981 I put a Bosch S5 008 in mine - 77Ah capacity with 7...

As Odin hinted at, the switch is built onto the boot catch behind the carpet

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Power folding mirrors to UK N/A REV2. Not later models.

UK rev3 models do not have wiring in the door looms for folding mirrors - I did this mod a few months ago on my UK rev3 and there was basically nothing of any help on any looms. I don't know what you were expecting to be there on later models, but it really isn't. The instructions on MR2OC for retro...

That link brings me to a page saying I need to ask for access. Dunno if you can alter something in google drive, cos otherwise you'll have to approve people individually.

Been running different boosts levels..10psi to 11 as stock, then 15psi to 17psi 20psi to 25psi..all on stock ECU and stock intercooler system, itercooler fan runs al the time.Engine is stock as well,no fancy pistons, bolts and gaskets. 25psi on stock internals... avoid doing that or you're going to sa...

Re: Fuel Cut Or Speed cut

From the factory all JDM cars came with a speed limiter (180kph) and all turbo cars came with a boost limiter (varies between engine generation). There are different devices that defeat each one. Additionally, standalone ECUs won't have the speed limiter (and the boost limit will be configurable). I...

Re: rev3

1) What are the compression test results? (ie. The cylinders are consistent, but could they be consistently low?)
2) Is is the stock catch can? If is isn't, does it need emptying? If it is, might the drain back to the sump be blocked?

Camber can make the car skittish on uneven road surfaces (B-roads, worn lane 1 on the motorway etc). It's always a balancing act, although AFAIU 2 degrees would often be considered a large amount for a road car.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Headlight upgrades

The only time I've experienced the stock headlights being "shocking" was when I'd picked up someone else's oil all over the front of my car. A quick wipe and they were back to normal. One of the few issues with pop-up headlights is that they often are forgotten when washing the car and the...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Headlight upgrades

I think the guys in the USA use LED units similar to that - not sure about that exact one though. Three things to consider though: 1) Make sure they've got a RHD beam pattern before buying 2) SW20s uses a common positive and switched ground, while those lights are described as using a common ground ...

Rogue rev6 headlights are projectors that come as an off-the-shelf kit... I've seen people on Faceache talking about fitting LEDs to them successfully, but I'm yet to try that myself.

Thanks for posting that, Paul! I've stolen it and added it to the library I host here: http://shinny.co.uk/toyota/ A quick examination suggests to me there's a printing error on the diagram because the circuits for the left and right sides are different - pins 4 and 5 on the control relay look like ...

This bit from the knowledge base should help: forums/kb.php?mode=article&k=92

Not a full wiring diagram though - I've never seen one for it either :(
