Re: engine fell out! can things get any worse!!!!
If your timing belt is moving towards your engine and not keeping centered then I would check all of your tensioner bearings as well as your water pump pulley. A friends MR2 turbo had a issue which due to the water pump pulley having play caused the timing belt to rub against the head. One other thi...

Re: Which oil to bed in bearings??
Ive always used Comma running in oil.. costs about £12 for 5 litres. Its specificaly designed to allow bearings and rings to bed in. Its also suitable for tubo charged engines which is one of the main reasons I chose it. Im not 100% convinced that mineral oil is good for turbos... but thats just my ...

Re: How does import tax work?
Ive recently had a few bits imported from the states and phoned to query the 'handling' charge which Royal Mail stung me for. I spoke to a guy in their customs department and he told me this about importing engine parts. Car parts tend to have a 3% import tax applied. If the tax is below say £10 on...

No idea Jay.

but Im sure there is some logic behind it.
As long as the ports on the manifold match up with the head thats all you need

Re: JE Piston Rings
I used Corma Running in oil for 600 miles then moved to semi synth as advised by the company who machined the block.
I have since moved back to mineral following advice from a few people to see if the rings will bed in.

Im starting to think that it might have been incorrectly bored.

Just found this site a few weeks ago.
.
.
Uk company selling a full side band kit for
£175
+ vat.
Can also be connected to a EGT sensor so you can monitor both from the one gauge.
Also has data logging functions.

Dont worry about it Tim.

I can understand what you were saying.

Scoops.

Im using an AEM wide band kit with a band new sensor which is located a good distnace from the turbo.
I have a feeling that its the injector lag settings which are causing me problems.

Re: PFC Map for 272 Cams
Tim,

I would be more than happy to take it to someone to tune but Im not happy driving it with the AFR's it is showing on cruise.
Ive been told that the injector Lag may be out.
.
so Im going to look at what my settings are.

PFC Map for 272 Cams
Has anyone got a suitable map for PFC. I need some which is set to run with 272 HKS cams and 800cc injectors. The stock map runs too rich with injector adjustment... I need to put more miles on the engine before I take it to be mapped. At present the cruise AFR's are all over the place and Im not h...

Re: Bottom End Bearing Help
The bearings on the REV 1, 2, and 3 are the same. You shouldnt have any problem getting them from any Motor Factors for about £80 a set. You can get them from Toyota but expect to pay £280 for the same set. Ive been told by my local Motor Factors that using standard bearings will be fine as long as ...

Re: [Mk2 Turbo] HELP!!!!!!!!!! i think my turbo's fooked!!! :(
Matt, If your crankshaft is gone then its a pretty big job to replace. It is more of a common problem with the Rev 1, 2 engines as the oil pressure relief valve sticks in the oil pump, causing oil starvation at high RPM's. To replace the crank with the engine in the car will require the gear box to ...

Looks like brake fluid... paint stripper tends to eat plastic and fibreglass. Its quite scary as to how common this sort of thing is. My friends bodyshop gets at least one a month sometimes with paint stripper / brake fluid on them... and in some cases they come back a month later with exactly the s...

Re: Causes of orange engine warning light??
Im sure it has something to do with either knock or injector duration. Have a look on your commnander (if you have one) and check to see what your max knock / injector durty lvl's are. You can set the PFC to flash the engine warning light on when it detects too much knock or if the injectors are max...
