Re: Having a dillema.. I'm just bored..What to do?

In the grande scheme of things if you buy another car.. how much is it going to cost to get it to the same power as what you got now? I think my mr2 will rot before i sell it. For what its worth to what it gives me in enjoyment it just doesn't make sense to sell. I drive my girlfirends 1.2 8v clio l...

Tyre size also. The choice of wide rubber in 16's is very limited. anything over 225 is hard to get.

I have gone through a lot of different combinations of wheels sizes and widths and have always preferred the 16" up front.

Re: 225 on a 7J rim

Is anyone running a 225 on a 7j rim and got pictures? Ideally on the front. I have some falken 225/45/16's and i'm thinking about fitting them up front. Any peoples experiences on the 7j? They are currently on a 7.5j rim and run fine. I'm just worried they may look a bit bulgy on the 7J. Craig you ...

Re: Can't make my mind up - want to kit my new 2 but don't want huge wheels

Double stagger is the way forward. 16's up front 17's at the rear. You get the benefit of the sharp turn in with a nice set of 16's and the wider tyre choice for the 17's allows you to have that wider rubber up back where its needed. Plus you can't argue having wide rubber on the back looks great on...

Re: Bottom end rebuild parts list and advice.

I'm not sure on boost to be honest seeing as its going to be done in stages. I want to build the engine up first.. reason being i think i have a problem with my current engine which i'm trying to diagnose (and thats another thread  ) and also because ultimately i do want to go forged. The e...

Bottom end rebuild parts list and advice.

I'm going get my bottom end rebuilt with forged pistons. Engine is unopened and I've been wanting to do this for ages. I'm putting together a list of parts I need to buy for the rebuild. My aim is to run a Garret GT3071r turbo eventually but I've gotta do this in stages because of finances so the en...

Re: Wheely Tough Dilema!!! SOLVED :-)

Indeed each to there own mate :D I'm just saying when i look at wheel specs and fitting i go by the top of the arch. I aim to get the wheel as flush to the lip of the arch as possible. I don't see what the front bumper has to do with it. When i use the offset calc for my rear wheels it said that et3...

Re: Wheely Tough Dilema!!! SOLVED :-)

Flush offset for the front with my wheel spec is et29 according to gordaen's mr2 calc. Your wheels are .5 of an inch bigger which is 12.7mm than mine. And it drives fine on the motorway like that. Also the bumper isn't inline with the top of the arch, they stick out further? How is the bottom of the...

You can clearly see the camber tucking the wheel in on the rear. There is loads of room on the front also. They can stil...

Re: How wide can you go?

I am running 17" 8J fronts, ET40 with a 215/40 tyre. The alloys itself scraped against the strut (HSD Coilovers) badly so I put on some 20mm spacers and now they clear okay. They stick out the arch a little bit though. Steering still feels fine etc. I may try out some 10mm spacers though to se...

Re: 3rd Official SW20 Big Brake Adapter Kit Group Buy

Hi,

Have you got any measurements from the edge of the caliper to the edge of the disc when fitted for both the front and rear? I would love to see if these will fit behind my 16" buddy club p1's

Re: How wide can you go?

Its fine putting a 9j on the front if your going to ride round at 15mph but its gonna feel horrid for just general driving. I didn't like the feel of the 235 on the front.

I personally don't see the point of fitting wide ass rims with skinny tyres. Horses for courses and all that

Re: How wide can you go?

9's on the front is pretty hard core and will require alot of work on the arches. I don't think it will feel to clever either. you going for the hella flush look?

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b332/hive81/IMG_3097.jpg That was it mate. The tyres came on the wheels when i got them so i decided to just try them out while i had the chance. I wouldn't recommend it. The steering was heavy and the turn in din't feel so sharp. Was an interesting experiment thou...

Re: How wide can you go?

It depends mate. You on Stock ride height or lowered? What size wheel you want to go? I ran a 235/40/17 on a 8j rim with a +32 on the front once and that was clooose. Didn't rub but it was mm's to close so i took them off. I run a 255/40/17 9j +35 and that fits fine. I wanna go 10j next but that req...

Is it true the rev 1 is more adjustable than the other revs on the rear?
