Dont worry guys. I sorted it out.
I had a HUGE air gap between the manifold and turbo housing... The gasket had about 1cm play. No wonder it was farting a lot
Anyways, I tightened everything up and the turbos back.. Whoop Woo..
Manifold snapped? Actuator could be stuck? Does the comp wheel spin on idle? Thanks for the reply mate. Can you give me an idea of how to check the actuator? I can't see any damage to the manifold but I will take a closer look today. Last year the bolts that hold the manifold to the turbo came loos...
c'mon guys.. Doesn't anyone know what it could be causing the turbo not to spool.?
I just read on another forum that it could be a snapped exhaust turbine and to remove the lambda sensor to see. I removed it, had a look and cant see anything..
I might be wrong but it sounds extra loud and farty.
Hi Guys, Its been a while since my last confession but I'm hoping you guys can help me figure out what's going on... I recently got the car started after a 6 month park up in my garage. Took it for a spin and the turbos not working!! I have no boost or spooling what so ever.. It just feels like a n/...
Whats all this about Front & rear lamdba sensors??
I need the one that fits into the Turbo housing, next to the dipstick. I presume thats the rear sensor?? Lots of front ones online.
Just found this one on ebay @ £40, looks identical to mine. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Lambda-Sensor-Toyota-MR2-Starlet-Yaris-4-runner-Lexus_W0QQitemZ160368480643QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item2556b4d183#ht_2770wt_941 BUT.... The part no. & engine no. don't match.. My s...
THANKS GUYS. I will order the ebay connector today (nice one Nigel). I guess its a £55 lamdba sensor then and not the cheapo universal one :( I found this from JustLamdba @ £55 http://www.lambdasensor.com/main/mr2.htm but i've just noticed it says 'universal type sensor' Fensport dont stock them, no...
The standard lambda sensor will be fine, you could just replace the connectors with either one you don't use or buy a male/female connector and wire it into the loom, failing that you could try items wanted to see if some one would be willing to cut the connector of a faulty sensor and the connecto...
Hi all, Trying to replace the lamdba/o2 sensor but the plastic connector plug that connects to sensor to the engine loom has melted together. I have to cut it off but then I will be left with 3 wires coming from the loom and 4 wires from the sensor.. I'm pretty good at maths but i cant seem to work ...
The rev 1/2's have a single wire the rev 3's have a 4 wire o2 sensor. So it seems to me yours is a aftermarket sensor and will not work. We got spares if you need. James Sorry to jump on the thread but I need a 4 wire sensor and the plastic connector plug. The connector on mine melted severely and ...
Hi all, Its been a while. I have a quicky for you! I've been told i need a new Lamdba sensor. The cars heavily tuned, do I need a special lamdba sensor or will the stock one do? The plastic connectors which connect the sensor cable to rest of the cables has melted severely, so i will need to replace...
Sorted!!! I removed it....
The problem the wires that confused me came from another alarm I had (autowatch)... Removed them both with no problems at all.
Pretty easy to be honest.. only took a couple of hours..
Thanks for your help anyways Ian.
Ring me on 07774 446402 and i will answer all questions Cheers Ian  Ian, I followed all the wires from the alarm unit and most are easy enough to remove. But some are confusing the hell out of me!! In theory the alarms wires should connect to the cars loom right?? In some cases by attaching t...
I thought as much Ian. I tried to google a wiring diagram to get an idea of how to remove it but no joy. I removed the dash under the steering column and found the alarm. Its has so many wires and they are all black. Grrrrrr I traced most of the wires and they seem fairly easy to remove but some are...
Hmmmm.. thats sounds right... No model no. though. I found the certificate but the idiots didnt write the product code. Only Toad Powerkey with the Thatcham evaluation number....
I'll google it now and see if i get anywhere but thanks anyways..
Hi all, I've tried searching the forum for related topics but no joy. So here i go... I have a TOAD powerkey which was installed back in 2002. Now Im having problems with it. Usually, i have to wave the plastic keyring (i think its called a transponder tag) infront of 2 sensors located on the dash a...
