[Mk2] [Generic] Anyone replaced the horns with others from the breaker?

Hi all.
Am I alone in thinking that the horns on the Mk2 sound, well....., terrible?
Has anyone directly replaced them with some others that sound much better and can be got from the breakers?
If so, which make, model and year of car did they get them from?
Thanks if you can help :)

[quote="HighwayStar"]Do you not need the rev 5 archliners as well? R.[/quote] I fitted a pair to my Rev2 without any problems - Just need to line up and carefully mark and drill three holes in the liner and then fit them up with some short black coach or roofing bolts. You'd never know the...

Re: Speedhut Group Buy! on MR2OC

What a bargain this is !
Around £50 for a set of custom made Speedhut dials for your Mk2, with a free inverter and free shipping. (Normally about the £85 mark)
Be quick though, it's the last day today, Sunday

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Lockwood White Dials - fitting

Do the Lockwood instructions advise you take off the original dials?
If so, did you cut them or remove the needles? :?
Cheers

Absolutely nothing to do with me in any way.

[Mk2] [NA] Headlamp unit without adjustable level motor ???

I recently bought a complete used headlamp unit for my UK 1994 N/A Mk2 Rev2 only to discover it did not have the headlamp level motor and associated parts. I didn't know there was any diference between them all. Which models was this fitted to so that I can avoid repeating this mistake when I try to...

Re: Quickie on 10mm spacers

Believe I've read before that 5mm is the max you can use without fitting longer studs. That may not be correct though. Why not try putting 10mm thickness of washers on your present studs and then try tightening up the nuts onto the wheel ? It will give you some idea how many turns the nuts will make...

Re: Classic Car Insurance

Yes, car has to be 15+ years old. With my Insurer, 6 photos have to be sent to them for approval. Any changes made that do not show on the photos, (should you make a claim), and your insurance is invalid. Any mod at all has to be declared at the time of change. Driver has to be 25+ years old. To get...

Which ONE item is a MK2 likely to fail the MOT on ?

Which one item is a Mk2 most likely to fail the MOT on?

I think it's brakes, especially the handbrake.

What do you think, or have experienced ?

Re: Handbrake problem??

If your problem is seized handbrake cables, I replaced mine today. Bit of a fiddle underneath the car but it all worked out OK and I can now park and be sure it won't run away ! Got a couple of QH cables with brackets from my local factor for £52, and used the link guide below. If you have a few too...

I'm so old (More than anyone has admitted so far) I can't bring myself to put it down in black and white, but I really enjoy my Two in a solitary kind of way ! All you youngsters wouldn't want me around at meets I guess.

The upside?

Fully comp insurance is £154 a year ! \:D/

Could well be trading on your enthusiasm to have your car featured in a mag, (We would nearly all like that), and when you get there who knows what will happen ? :pale:
