Could it be the black/yellow wire to the alternator plug, or rather the wire that I bypassed the black/yellow wire with?
Yes.

If BC have made changes then they know they have the problem.
Get on to them and get the parts that will fix the problem

Re: Toyota OEM pads?
Loads of great responses in here! Thanks very much for sharing your experience, I'll get the OEM pads from my man at Toyota and look into the XP6/8's for my next change, anyone have experience of the Carbotech versus the Porterfield item? Again, apologies for covering old ground but people always s...

Re: MR2 Turbo Cold engine restricts power
Oil takes a very long time to warm up, could be even 30 min or so The ECU does control the power under the control of the ECU water temp sensor, not the same one as the gauge sensor. If you think you have a problem replace the ECU water temp sensor with a new one from Toyota. All the info is in the ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] TD05 16H onto 3SGTE Rev2 Manifold
Ill get rid and look for a ct20/hybrid. :thumleft: You will also need to change engine parts, ecu etc if you are going to fit a bigger turbo and want more power. The stock engine as is runs under the control of the knock sensor, so just upping the boost can give lots of problems like blown head gas...

Re: Oil on Intake side of Turbo
Do not use a shroud on an intercooler or rad, it blocks off the air flow when you need it most. I think you mean a badly designed cover, rather than a proper well designed shroud. :) No, any shroud. They are not needed, the fan will pull all the air needed when the car is at a stand still, then whe...

Some folks say this can can cause running issues in a rev2 which uses an AFM to meter airflow, Paul
That is imposable.
The internals of the engine, sump, cam cover, are not connected to the AFM

Could I vent the breather pipe from the cam cover to the intake, to the atmosphere and bung up that hole for a few days whilst I wait for the catch can to arrive?
Yes, that is what I said to do.
We do it with every turbo car we have.

Re: Oil on Intake side of Turbo
Take the turbo inlet pipe off and see how much play you have on the turbo by trying to move the comp wheel by holding on to the centre nut. With the cam cover breather, remove it from the turbo inlet pipe and plug the hole, then vent the pipe down the side of the gearbox. The last thing a turbo engi...

You will now have Chinese made sensors.
I would have got the ECU temp one from Toyota, that controls so much and if it is off it will change all your fuelling.

Re: Spongey brake pedal
EBC pads just burn the brakes and boil the fluid.
Change the pads to Porterfield, change all the fluid again as it will have boiled and all will work great unless the callipers have had it.

You need Porterfield pads for the best brakes.
