Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Heater Matrix pipes over fuel tank

1. Yes, steel over braided hose is too far. You won't see it, and the braid is only there to prevent the pipe expanding when its under pressure. A heater hose doesn't see pressure like a brake line so doesn't need the braid. 2. No, crush it down is fine. Its the same as the existing bit of flexible ...

Re: My rev 3 turbo vs S2000

When I said mine whups it, I mean past 80mph it's a piece of p1$$ to pull away from an s2k and when you start getting into high end triple figures it's not even worth playing with them but the supercharger kit sounds good I have to say. I'd like to see that. It doesn't match my experience and i've ...

Re: My rev 3 turbo vs S2000

If its mildy modded a rev2 won't 'whup' an S2k. Standard for standard an S2k is quicker in a straight line than a Rev2 Turbo. A small boost increase doesn't close the gap that much. My old rev2 had the boost at 14psi and the s2k was slightly quicker. Handling wise, standard for standard, the s2k is ...

True, i can see the benefit. Shame the torque plate doesn't fit to allow you fit bigger pads too. That really would be an upgrade.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Lexus IS300 brake calipers

So you can fit a caliper with bigger pistons that uses the same pads. Braking effort goes up for the same pedal pressure, but overall braking power remains the same. How is this an upgrade? You won't be able to stop any quicker because you could already lock the wheels with the oem calipers, the pad...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Heater Matrix pipes over fuel tank

Just use heater hose and if you've got the tank out run it in the space left by the original hose. Alternatively if you known where the crack is you could take the pipe of and braize up the crack or even remove the damaged section of pipe and replace it with heater hose. I replaced mine years ago wi...

Re: My rev 3 turbo vs S2000

unlikely to be modded. You have to spend serious money to get any gains from an NA as honda did all the tuning for you. Supercharged versions tend to have 350bhp+ and would have slaughtered you :) Its not hard at all keeping a VTEC s2k on the boil on UK roads. You've got a 3000 rpm VTEC powerband to...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] coolant leak

any evidence of head gasket failure? emulsion in the oil or oil in the coolant?

If not then the other culprit could be the heater lines above the fuel tank. They're prone to cracking and it can be difficult to find the leak.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] put unleaded in instead of vpower now it wont start!

You have probably got a few busted sensors. The unleaded fuel is not good for the MR2 no matter what revision. Drain the petrol out of the tank, put new stuff in have the knock sensor checked and as stated above check for error codes (first). Are you saying the unleaded fuel has caused the problem?...

Re: TRACKDAY and ACTIVITY WEEKEND! *Rockingham 22nd/23rd Sept*

Did that Clio have a passenger in it? (I don't remember even seeing a burgundy Clio there  A silver one I let past and then kept up with through the twisties, but no burgundy one...) didn't notice a passenger. The burgandy clio only had one headlight, i'm assuming for a cold air feed. The si...

Re: TRACKDAY and ACTIVITY WEEKEND! *Rockingham 22nd/23rd Sept*

One of the downsides of the day though was the number of Red Flags thrown, I guess there must have been 8 or more? (although the Marshalls and recovery trucks did pull people out of the way nice and quickly). Anybody who's been to Rockingham before (Lower?) have any idea if thats normal, or excepti...

Re: TRACKDAY and ACTIVITY WEEKEND! *Rockingham 22nd/23rd Sept*

All it would have taken is a quick word to Jonny and the problems would have been sorted. It's one of the main reasons I book with BookaTrack. He really doesn't p1$$ about if people are driving badly, he takes action. at one point i had to go and report a burgandy clio for trying to outbrake me int...

Re: TRACKDAY and ACTIVITY WEEKEND! *Rockingham 22nd/23rd Sept*

I'm quite shocked so many poeple seemed to have "issues" with other drivers. Especially on a BaT event. Personally, I didn't encounter anything too bad except for the silver 944 who was reluctant to let others past, but he was a newbie so I didn't think anymore of it. There were also one ...

Re: TRACKDAY and ACTIVITY WEEKEND! *Rockingham 22nd/23rd Sept*

Ah, you mean Peter. His car is gradually turning into a monster! Its quicker in a staight line than a standard S because he's got some engine mods but more importantly a different ratio diff. He can comfortably outdrag me in a straight line and with the tyres and chassis mods his car is a bit of a m...
