Check your intercooler fan fuse. The 20A marked "VENT" in the engine fuse box. And also check the wiring harness / connector that actually plugs into the IC fan. Make sure it isn't flopping around and accidentally touching the exhaust manifold heat shield.

Is your IC fan fuse blowing? That would be the 20A fuse in the engine bay fuse box. I had the same problem and it was due to the wire harness / connector on my intercooler fan that was flopping around and touching the exhaust manifold heat shield. When the engine warmed up enough, it actually burned...

Just keep in mind factory oem paint is only single stage (i.e. no clear coat) and as others have said, suffers from fading. Are you spraying a small part/section or the whole car?

I believe it is the 20A (yellow) fuse in the engine bay fuse box labelled "VENT" on the fuse box lid.
