Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Charge Cooler for 400hp

I run a Radtec Chargecooler, fits in the stock intercooler location and puts a quality charge cooler radiator right at the front of the car in the airflow. Works very well on track, superior to the ST205 setup that I ran that happily for years. The ST205 setup did heatsoak a little but that was hel...

Re: Dyno results. 420@ the hubs.

Dyno again on Monday. I since found my wastegate wasn't sealing properly so that's been replaced. Currently rerouting it into the downpipe as I hate it. Bushes getting done at the weekend, Gonna fit a new boost solenoid as well. I've checked the new wastegate and it seals perfectly so fingers cross...

Re: Dyno results. 420@ the hubs.

New pump in. Completely silent! Got new inner tie rod bushes fitted as well, Still need to do the ones in the hub but replacing the inners has made a massive improvement already. Car feels really sporty now ha! Awesome dude. Glad the pumps quieter. I couldn't believe the difference especially consi...

No but to change the rods the pistons need to come out.

Re: Dyno results. 420@ the hubs.

I am on stock rod bolts. I did buy ARPs but never fitted them. Totally regret not getting proper rods now. I think I'm gonna do the rods over winter. It's the rod bolts that are the weak point apparently. I know the NA guys can go as high as 9 on stock ones but i think with boost in the mix it's no...

Re: Dyno results. 420@ the hubs.

It is yeah. Dunno if you read but my top feeds and rail wouldn't clear my manifold. Only option is to take the manifold off and reshape it. I'm simply not prepared to do that :( The car was well on its way to making 480bhp so i'm not fussed. It's 430bhp at the moment albeit with a 6400 rev limit. 4...

I know i'm really annoyed with him. 40 miles of fuel wasted. I'm booked in with him again Monday so when he calls asking where I am i'll string him along till he realises i'm not coming. Waste his time for a change! To be fair I like dynatune better, This place was just closer! Still can't get iver...

Re: Dyno results. 420@ the hubs.

Im no expert but im sure you can ramp in the boost using the boost controller. basically ask it to give you more boost than your target low down, and as the boost is built tail off the boost target. i noticed when messing with my boost controller how much harder my boost came in compared to running ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Charge Cooler for 400hp

My only experience with sidemounts is the stocker and man that thing loves to heatsoak. What sidemount are you using anyway? Personally I'm not a fan of boot mounts as I don't fancy having my car hacked up (even more than it already is lol) and I do like the responsiveness that having very little b...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Charge Cooler for 400hp

I ran an ST205 cooler many years back at about 320bhp (fly). This was on an MR2 that's long gone. It was mapped with an Apexi PFC. Cooling wasn't an issue for me. My current spec (fully forged, gt30 etc) is running a side mount. Now don't get me wrong, 400bhp is plenty in an MR2 for the road or tra...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Charge Cooler for 400hp

hey guys, decided im going to go charge cooler for my ~400hp forged build.

Is the gt4 charge cooler any good? or is there a better aftermarket option?

Appreciate the input

thanks
