Hey
I have a 98 non-import UK non-turbo MR2. Are they always the same engine? Need a set of HT leads for it.

Thanks. I tried him but he doesn't want to take on the work. There's a really good bodyshop nearby who are also booked up for the year.

Both sills have been badly welded. They are solid, but the joins are rusted. Either want both replacing, or patching cosmetically so the rust stops coming through. There is a little rust under the wheel arches too - only side is minor, the other I've been told might need a plate. I also need all sea...

They said the subframe will need welding because of the hole. With the ARB he said "the anti roll bar link is broken", on the phone he said snapped. I didn't realise there were two parts.

I've got a 98 with 104k on the clock. Had the clutch, timing belt, and hose from hell done last year. Also had the sills welded and one replaced last year. At the back, anti-rollbar is snapped. Both shocks need replacing. There's a hole in the subframe that needs welding, and the brake shielding is ...

They were both OEM I think, but the replacements were second hand.

Better top mounts for 98 mr2?
I've had two sets fail on me from speed bumps (not sure the replacement was any good to be honest), mechanic told me the part isn't the best quality. Not sure how true that is. Having said that, any recommendations for better ones? And do I need to replace the springs and shocks at the same time or ...

I have a 98 non-turbo MR2 with 100k on the clock. It's still running but it's a rough ride. I want someone to look it over, give me a rough quote for fixing it all up and do the work. As long as the cost isn't too ridiculous I don't mind throwing money at her. What I know needs doing : Suspension is...

Anyone fitted veilside side skirts and not bumper? Share a pic?
Going to replace the sills and any rust underneath and get body redone. Tempted to get side skirts just to hide the sills afterwards as it's going into the bodyshop anyway. Anyone else tried this? Can you share a photo?
Not sure if it will look awful

Name for the engine guard underneath the car?
Driving through a deep puddle caused it to hang off the car, grind down on the road. It's been secured as much as possible but I need a new one. I've tried searching for engine cover and engine guard but I just get the metal engine cover from the top. Anyone know what it's called? Sorry for the dumb...

You mean 245/45 is too big right?
It was the good tyres coming on the alloys I was looking at - wouldn't buy new tyres at 245/45 but if they fit I'd rather have avoided the expense of replacing them.
Doesn't matter anyway found some others

That's CalMac. I was about to buy the 9.5J ones today, didn't consider the width might not fit, saved me some hassle

Re: Wheel size recommendations
The two on the back were there when I got the car two years ago. Date of manufacture I've no idea because they are both in bits now. The spares I have are all 5 years old, not been in use for 4 years (took them off my old Celica). Stored in a cold basement (stacked on top of each other) before (the ...

Anyone running taller wheels on the back? How is suspension?
Considering 215/40/17 front and 245/45/17 on the back. It's not lowered so I think it should fit but not sure how it will feel.

Re: Wheel size recommendations
Ok so as it stands I've got 4 good (but a few year old) 215/40/17 tyres. Unless I buy new alloys, I've found two not-quite-right options. First is staggered alloys 17x7.5J and 17x9.5J with 245/45/17 and 205/40/17 on. I could swap the front with 215/40/17 to keep a 30mm difference (assuming they'll f...

Wheel size recommendations
Hey, After a second blowout in the same number of weeks (bad luck - had tyres all checked after the first one and then passed MOT) in the middle of rush hour in fast lane making me run on metal until I could get to safety, I need new alloys. I've been running the same size alloys on all four wheels,...
