Re: pump
kennym wrote:you asked for advice you got it i'd change the pump,.... or don't its up to you
Kenny, I appreciate the input but my budgets set. That being said if my oil pumps in spec I'm £100 up, if it needs replaced rest assured it'll get replaced.

Re: Rev1 Engine Rebuild Advice
I have no issue in re using the oil pump (I did in mine) but not without checking it as per the BGB. I do think the headbolts are a wise investment for 400hp. Stud and bolt has a far stronger clamping force. What's the bgb checklist for the pump out of interest? Ok mate, will look into the head stu...

Re: Rev1 Engine Rebuild Advice
Fair enough, ha! If there's a solid reason why ARP's are the way forward Id happily look into it.
Kennym - Have you heard of oil pumps failing yeah?

Cheers Gyzyza, the rods come with ARP's. I'm not sold that I need ARP's for the head but I'm open to learning more about them.

Re: rod bolts
torque the rod bolts & slacken them off three times if you're not using a bolt stretch gauge, also you don't mention an oil pump. Cheers Kenny, will do, I'm led to believe the oil pumps are bulletproof so wasn't planning on changing it. I'd like to use a stretch gauge but when it's £150 for a g...

Re: Headgasket Causing Coolant Leak??
There's defo something split/leaking, doubt it'd be the block but you never know.
Going to have to pap it into a garage as I can't get the time with it that I need and I want it running again asap!
Cheers for the input!

Headgasket Causing Coolant Leak??
Hi guys fitted a new 1.3 cometic hg with new standard head bolts and the heads on but I've spotted a slow steady drip of coolant running down the engine to the ground. It's coming from cylinder 1 side on the intake side of the engine. If I finish building it and start it the leak will p1$$ out. Anyo...

How to remove driveshaft?
Removing the cambelt side drive shaft to replace oil seal. I've taken the hub off. I've taken the bolts out the bracket that fixes to the block so I can slide out the whole thing in one go. I've removed the c clip inside the bracket. Should it now slide out through the bracket or am I missing someth...
