Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oil pressure light but had new pump fitted recently

Sounds random, don't think i've ever heard of a pickup pipe bolt shearing from vibration even if it were loose but then it's pretty unthinkable that someone would shear it while tightening and then just leave the bolt in the pan for you to find. So yeah if the pickup has come loose you've sucked in...

Any pictures?

No pics but yes one stud broken and the other wasn't even tight so naturally engine vibration since the work was done has loosened the one which wasn't tight and the other I'm guessing he snapped and left in oil pan!!!!!

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oil pressure light but had new pump fitted recently

Update Pulled pan and strainer bolts that secure to where it pulls the oil up to the oil pump the seller obv didn't tightened these up and overtightened the other One was snapped and in the pan ffs and the other not tight hence wasn't sealing and lost oil pressure Metal in bottom of pan From what pa...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oil pressure light but had new pump fitted recently

Well the metal filings could be a result of a loss in oil pressure but then what caused the loss in oil pressure.... Either way looks like you'll need to drop the oil and go from there unfortunately. Don't take my word for it that it's the relief valve i'm just speculating on what we know so far an...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oil pressure light but had new pump fitted recently

The paint comment is my wishful thinking it deffo small metal filings :( Mayne it was the relief valve but I guess it's not an easy job to just check the valve or is it a cambelt off jobby etc? Wish had a specialist nearer to me as I'd literally just say fix it please and pay the bill as it's really...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oil pressure light but had new pump fitted recently

How long before you bought the car was the oil pump allegedly changed? how many miles on that pump? was it a pattern or genuine pump? Not sure how common it is with 3S-GTE's but perhaps oil pressure relief valve stuck open? Would need someone with more experience on these engines to chime in. Said ...

Oil level fine but checked oil cap and not sure if it's paint bits from where cam cover was painted into the threaded part of oil cap or if it's metal fragments inside the head😭
