Re: Central locking/remote central locking - Rev 3 turbo UPDATE: Diagnosis Gidden
I'm fairly certain he wouldn't have had any reason to go into the door. I did take the door card off the other day but didn't peel back any of the plastic as it looked undisturbed. There is a wire spliced into the door loom before the connector in the footwell. I've taken a photo but I can't get my...

Re: Driftworks Coilovers - HSD
I got a set of HSD coilovers fitted a few months ago, certainly not the ones to go for if you want to go really low.
Their good for the money but like someone else said, bouncy no matter what setting you have them on.

Nice impartial moderation buddy. Funny how a guy that had endless complaints about him and his work was allowed to remain a "trader" on here for so long was all good. Pay the fee and you can rip off whoever you want with no recourse it would appear. And even more amusing was how the forum ...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Bit smokey?
Yep, it could be many things unfortunately. Is your standard CT20 ceramic? Could be broken turbine blade which results imbalance then seals to go on compressor or turbine side (or both) Seen that happen... https://i.imgur.com/YwkuPDnh.jpg Could be valve seals as well. Relatively easy to check espec...

[Mk2] [Generic] Bit smokey?
So I'm starting to get a bit of smoke from the exhaust. No real pattern to it, just whenever it fancies. No smoke when cold on start up, no smoke on overrun, no difference when hot or cold it just smokes a bit sometimes worse than others. What I have noticed is that I've needed to dial in more to th...

[Mk2] [Turbo] UK car with Rev3 turbo conversion, coilovers settings.
Just got a set of these: https://www.vipmotorsport.co.uk/Toyota-MR2-SW20-HSD-DualTech-Coilovers Has anyone else fitted these and if so could someone give me a rough front and rear measurement for the the individual units? I want to keep the car -40mm all round. Just being a bit lazy if I'm being hon...

Thanks, I've seen the light now.
Can you advise me on exactly what I should and shouldn't do to my own car?
Tell your mate I'm sorry to hear that his business is almost completely finished. Pmsl.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Stock NA shocks with Koni inserts on a Rev 3 turbo?
What inserts and springs are you running? You have 40mm progressive springs right? KYB if I recall correcrly, 25% uprated inserts. Tbh I really couldn't be certain, I think they are leijfors (sp) and they are -40mm. Most likely -45mm due to age related sag. Interested to know what springs you paire...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Stock NA shocks with Koni inserts on a Rev 3 turbo?
I replaced my inserts with 25% upgraded items with my -40mm progressive rate shocks and the difference for the money was incredible. I did cut and seal the rear arches to run 10mm spacers as well mind you. ;) What inserts and springs are you running? You have 40mm progressive springs right? KYB if ...

Re: Looking to buy an MR2 turbo
go for a rev3 onwards bud. About 300bhp with bolt ons. It's a very different car from anything with 4 seats. Turbo right behind your head. It sounds great. There's nothing quite like an mr2. I've had just about every jap car you can think of as well a 490bhp 335i. Nothing compares to driving an mr2...

Your car is gorgeous mate, and tour initial post about all the kick in the baws xxxx I can totally relate to, and then some. Great to see you stuck with it and it certainly would be my pride and joy also. I swear if it wasn't for my fast car and superbike obsession I'd be lost. Well all that and my ...

I was persuaded by a trader that used to be on here to go with the TRE as they are much quieter and he "kept them in stock" he actually fitted a Chinese piece of xxxx that cost about £20 that failed within 60 miles. So don't trust what everyone says or eBay, lol. My initial choice and alwa...

Re: Handling - twitchy above 60mph
As your car has been off the road for a number of years, how old are the tyres? Very old rubber can give handling issues. My car gets twitchy in the wet once the tyre tread gets down to 3 mm. I'd try new boots all round first. It's surprising how much confidence and grip you can lose with tyres as ...

im not as knowledgable as many of the good people on here but a search for fault 52 "52,53 Knock indicator (sensor)" I had fault 52 for weeks. Tried three different knock sensors but all made it worse and the original went back to being off and on issue. Eventually replaced the entire wir...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Loose white wire and multiplug in engine bay fuse box.
I wouldn't have thought so, just looks like it's an unused connection from the stock wiring loom which wasn't needed because of the fuel pump upgrade. If it's all working OK, I'm not sure if it would be wise reconnecting the white wire until you can trace where it's going to. Paul Makes sense with ...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Loose white wire and multiplug in engine bay fuse box.
For what it's worth my JDM rev 2 turbo has a white wire where you have just the empty connector, but the colours of the other wires looks different. So I guess it all depends on what harness was used during the conversion. Image Replaced With URL For Quote http://www.mr2.org.uk/images/mr2_engine_fu...
