Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Throttle body replacement

If it makes a any odds a month or so later, i use a MR2 throttle body on my celica - i have a fmic so I dont need to worry about the tube differences, everything else works fine.

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Rev 1 wiper adaptor questions

I tried the adapters but ended up spending £20 and getting rev2+ hook arms, much easier !

Except lost on of the caps dammit.......

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Rev 1 to Rev 3 engine swap

Not sure I will bother with the ecu swap - all seems to be working fine without it and means do not need to wire in a O2 sensor, unless someone mentions advantages ? Interestingly was idling high with the new engine in and could not drop it, ended up replacing the idle control valve motor for one fr...

[Mk2] [NA] Rev 1 to Rev 3 engine swap

Hi, recently I had my slightly suspect rev1 engine swapped out and a rev3 3sge installed. currently still have the rev1 ecu and loom, which means no cold start injector so runs rough as for 5 mins or so first of all - fine when warmed up. what i dont know is , with a rev3 ecu any issues with immobil...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Repurposing the TVSV

i've just hooked up the tvis on gen 3 3sgte in my celica to a pulse width sensor reader in my greedy e-01 profec. Car is currently waiting for new clutch and not going, but it was showing the pulse width % as I boosted (its not connected to the wastegate as using the geddy boost controller). wanted ...

Like the no power steering so much I dont now like driving my celica as much, feels over assisted...though have a plan for that!

Re: The Hobgoblin....SW20 Rev1 NA

thanks - plan is to keep stockish but work on handling upgrades where sensible and a few nicer bits - forgot, replaced the huge stock wheel with a spare momo wheel I had which is much nicer. Looking forward to lowering it and seeing if it makes a difference :) Strut braces work really well on the ce...

The Hobgoblin....SW20 Rev1 NA

Will put some pics up soon and update this, but thought would start a thread on my MR2. Bought it in April as spare or repairs due to some issues. Never owned a MR2 beofre but own a gen 5 3sge celica, and a fwd gen 6 celica with a 3sgte, so knew the engines a bit. Picked up a Rev1 NA Blue inside, da...

Re: Looking to be a MR2 owner - few questions

The lighter MR2s are the tintops I believe, and I think the rev1 or 2 is the lightest of the tintops. Rev3 N/A engine is the fastest of the N/As. There's plenty of cheap ones about - quite a few have come up locally for £500-1000. I bought my old rev3 for £900 a few years ago and it's still passing...

Re: Looking to be a MR2 owner - few questions

£500 sounds like a nice price! Comfortable with the 3sge range, hence the MR2 choice, engines are good :) And no to japfest, not tracked the celica yet, though do want to. Only track driving I have done so far was three laps driving an ariel atom 300 round a small track, which I loved, grinnned the ...

Re: Looking to be a MR2 owner - few questions

Thanks for the quick response! I should have gone for the GT4 orginally, but have almost gone too far down the fwd turbo route on my celica. It's been modified to work with the engine (E56 gear box and drive shafts, MR3 rev3 turbo ecu, FMIC, custom exhaust, etc) Head says sell it and buy a GT4, hear...

Looking to be a MR2 owner - few questions

Hi :) first post.... Currently I own a st202 Celica, FWD but with a rev3 3SGTE engine. It did have a 3sfe which I turbo'd, until it blew. Then replaced with the 3sgte. I would like to buy a second car, a rwd, so MR2 mk2 looks spot on :) thinking of looking to buy next spring, and just put a few hund...
