Re: Ewan's Rev 4 N/A
Owned it a year today, and ticked over 157,000 miles this week! I ventured down to S-Bits to pick some wheels up from l1ca. For some reason, I had the idea of throwing them all in the MR2 and journeying home. Silly mistake. I ended up making 2 trips and having a nice chat with Peter while I was ther...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] MR2 Turbo Won't Start
We we're at it again tonight. All cylinders are between 165-175. So fine. Decided to try fire it up again, ben had given up at this point. Nothing the first and second try, third one with a bit of gas and some magical whispers and it fired back up. Ran fine. Left it for about 15 minutes and it staye...

Re: Ewan's Rev 4 N/A
My bearing kit from Peter arrived today after he generously sent another when the first didn't show up, crappy Royal Mail. Started fitting tonight, lower one came off and new one on in 5 minutes. Upper one however left the brass insert on the peg. Two hours later and i still couldn't get it off, so ...

Attempted compression test tonight.
1 - 170psi
2 - 165psi
3 - couldn't remove spark plug!
4 - wouldn't crank
Think he's just going to rebuild it.

[Mk2] [Turbo] MR2 Turbo Won't Start
Friend called me today saying he started his car and after two minutes it seemed to run lumpy and then cut out. Now when we try to start it, it coughs on the first crank and then nothing. Just cranks from the starter motor. Pulled the plugs out, they're covered in oil but still sparking. Fuel is sti...

Yeah, sure!
It's an absolute doddle, you need a screwdriver and 10 minutes spare. Easy, cheap and decent mod that improves the interior.

Yeah I just spliced it into the ground on the stereo harness. Video while driving is for the girlfriend so she has something to do on lengthy journeys.
Impressed with it so far.

Re: Ewan's Rev 4 N/A
Got the engine back together tonight. Looks much better, just need to clean the exhaust heatshield up. Battery was flat so had to jump start, nothing at first, realised no fuel was getting through. Gave it some throttle and it burst into life in spectacular fashion, scaring the xxxx out of a toddler...
