Check plug wires and plugs itself for any cracks.
I had the same issue on my N/A... all the insulators were cracked for some reason.

Re: [Troubleshooting] High idle CO - MOT fail
Thnx for your reply. But the hurting never stops, does it? Now I'm having a problem that my Autowatch immobilizer transponder doesnt work anymore. My spare key with 2nd transponder does work. So I have to relearn my main key I guess. Also, the garage noticed an oil leak somewhere. I did notice that ...

Re: Driving to a track....car breaks down, how to get home?
About 1,5 yrs ago I drove my track-Nissan from the Netherlands to Budapest when I was attending a Hungaroring-trackday. Went flawlessly without technical issues and it was awesome to do such a trip in the racer. https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/t1.0-9/60284_10151217141930169_24...

Re: [Troubleshooting] High idle CO - MOT fail
I did not perform a CO test after each fix/modification I did so don't know what's up with the 'confused'-emoticon. In the end we did the following: - replaced TPS (gave an error code) - replaced MAP (gave an error code) - replaced spark plugs (cracked insulators) - replaced downpipe + all gaskets (...

Re: [Troubleshooting] High idle CO - MOT fail
Don't know what eventually fixed the issue, I think the major issue was the downpipe in the end.

Re: Weird idle issue when warm
Allrighty, got a look at the car today AGAIN. Problem seemed to getting worse and worse, also hesitation while driving and accelerating from low RPM. Pulled the spark plug leads off and saw that 3 of them had torn boots. Then I pulled the spark plugs and 3 of them had a cracked insulator  :? ...

Re: Weird idle issue when warm
Just removed the TPS sensor and sprayed/cleaned it thoroughly. I did notice something on the throttle body side, don't know if it's an issue or not but here's a pic: https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc3/t1/1604824_10152253128520169_1688277979_n.jpg The other side that whitish spot ...

Re: Weird idle issue when warm
Where the f*ck is my mass airflow sensor then? Where should it be located? I have a JDM 3SGE N/A rev2 with a cone filter and afaik the MAP sensor is the only one there is. I previously owned a Nissan with a MAF sensor so I know what to look for... Or...do you mean the sensor in the intake tube that ...

Re: Weird idle issue when warm
Just did some more testing. Warmed up the car, checked the timing. 10 degree (stock) so thats good. Checked ECU for codes again > no errors Issue still occurs, but only as soon as the idle rpm adjusts itself to under 1000 rpm the problems starts. If I play around with the TPS sensor while the car is...

Re: Weird idle issue when warm
Yeah, we did that with a Fluke digital ohmmeter but like stated I felt the numbers were bouncing around a bit while turning it very very gently so I guess that would be the next fix.
I'm starting to hate this car.
Fix one issue, something else pops up...

Weird idle issue when warm
Ok, i'm having a very very VERY hard time getting my 1992 SW20 3SGE rev2 through the idle emission because of high CO. Compression was good, lambda was OK, spark plugs are changed, all fluids are fresh. Toyota dealer advised to replace MAP sensor and the flex-pipe was leaking. Replaced MAP sensor bu...

Re: [Troubleshooting] High idle CO - MOT fail
Just spoke to the dealer again, they will make a copy of the emissiontest.
They also keep saying that fixing the exhaust (flexi-part) should cure the high idle CO... I doubt it but we will see.

Re: [Troubleshooting] High idle CO - MOT fail
Dealer replaced MAP sensor, not improved enough to pass the emissiontest...
They now want to replace the downpipe due to a leaking flex.
Could that be it?
Im almost thinking that welding in a universal cat will solve the problem rightaway...
