Re: Running rich after new exhaust install
They had a poke around to look for the source of an oil leak but no other work was done on the engine.
I'll check all the sensors when I get home tonight.
Thanks mate.

Running rich after new exhaust install
I've recently had a mongoose exhaust fitted by my friendly local garage and the car has been running really rich ever since it came back. You can smell how much it's over fueling and my economy has dropped right off, having been decent prior to that. Any suggestions on where to check first? I'm at a...
Re: red MK1
That's me. Only just seen this as I don't check this sub forum that often! I appreciate the tidy comment but sadly she's a little tired in terms of body work. I've spent a fair amount in getting the shell and suspension back up to spec but it's a long way off where I want it to be. It's nice to know...

Re: Clutch pedal sticking
The reservoir is under the plastic cowling that's used to cover the fuse box etc so you need to remove that to get at it.

Re: Drop link removal and other MOT fun and games.
Did as suggested and dropped the shock from its top mount then ground/cut the nut off.
Now I need to replace the wing and sill on one side, I found this site: http://www.mr2mk1sills.co.uk/
Has anyone used them before?

Re: Drop link removal and other MOT fun and games.
That's the thing with the handbrake, it doesn't need to be pulled all the way to the extent of its travel to work. Might just need a minor adjustment as I recently changed the rear calipers. As for the drop links, it's the top nut that is giving me problems so no danger of damaging the roll bar itse...

Drop link removal and other MOT fun and games.
Hi all, Apologies if this has been discussed before but a search didn't turn up much that was useful. Anyway, it failed it's MOT on 2 drop links so I thought it best to just replace all four along with the ARB bushes. The problem is I am having a hard time getting the top nuts undone on the front on...

I'll have to give this a go.
Might go for tape AND screws/bolts for double safety.

Reg/licence plate bracket
Hi all, My licence plate has come away from its mounting after the two L brackets rusted to the point of no return. Luckily I've still got the plate but I've been told by my local dealer that the metal bit that fixes to the nose piece/bumper is discontinued. Is there an alternative? I need to get th...

Re: Air intake upgrade?
Sorry to bump an old thread but it saves me starting a new one and this is a relevant question. What is the diameter of the inlet on the plenum? I want to get some silicone hosing to fit a K&N cone filter I've bought and want to make sure I get the right diameter. Also, is there an ideal length ...

Re: Cam cover gasket replacement.
One last question. Is it worth using gasket sealant or is just replacing the failed gasket enough without going overboard?

Cam cover gasket replacement.
I need to tackle changing my leaky cam cover gasket and just wanted to be fully prepared before doing so.
Are there any hidden horrors or issues I may run into while doing it or is it as simple as removing the cam cover, throttle bracket and cam belt cover to get at it?

You were leaving the car park today at around 5:15. Exhaust sounds good.

Is there any improvement on fitting this over a standard Mk1 other than a different exhaust note?
