Re: Project Beater - 1993 GT - T-Bar N/A

Well I've not been on here for nearly a year. I bought all the spare parts to get the beater back on the road but never got round to it. I have just bought a 600bhp Supra so this is now surplus to requirement. I will be putting this up for sale as a non runner for £1K or best offers. She does in fac...

Re: Front Fog Lights Not Working

Sorry to state the obvious but I assume both bulbs are working?

If that's the case it could well be the switch or connector. Having jut taken mine apart to replace the bulbs I can assure you they are quite basic.

Failing that I would do some continuity testing on the wiring to ensure its working.

Don't get me wrong. I have considered this, but there is clearly an issue with the engine that needs resolving and that will only get worse if left.

Re: MOT Fail - Emissions 1993 Rev 2 UK N/A

There was a lengthy discussion on this forum recently about Toyota = Denso. I paid a significant amount for it because much like yourself, I am not a patron of poo. Anyway it is yours if you want it. Peter Gidden or similar will confirm rev differences. It is certainly for NA engines, I know turbo ...

Re: MOT Fail - Emissions 1993 Rev 2 UK N/A

I have a brand new denso (read: Toyota) lambda sensor if you want it. It is no use to me as the beams sensor is different. I believe I paid ballpark £60 for it. Tempted. Will that fit a 1993 rev 2 N/A engine? My concern, if I am honest, is having owned a Supra for 6+ years, that non genuine Lambda ...

Re: MOT Fail - Emissions 1993 Rev 2 UK N/A

I think it's the joint between the exhaust manifold and flexi. The last chap put quite a bit of exhaust paste on the joint.

I will take the whole exhaust off tomorrow and see what I have.

I will make it all work!!! 8)

Re: MOT Fail - Emissions 1993 Rev 2 UK N/A

Thats good to know ref the lambda.

I will give everything a good refresh with a cat and see how I get on.

The exhaust is leaking somewhere which will also undoubtably impact on the emission levels.

Thanks. I don't have one at the moment but will see about getting one next time it's out.

My understanding was that the wheels were £800 with tyres of eBay. Nothing special but they do suit the car.

Re: Project Beater - 1993 GT - T-Bar N/A

Today I did the cancer bars. Was quite a simple job in the end. The near side was the totally rotten one, the off side was rusty but servicable. Regardless I replaced both. Took about 40 minutes to do it all. These are the old ones. http://i315.photobucket.com/albums/ll446/mwilkinson01/IMG_1854_zpsf...

A few updates. Beater is back on the road after a few weeks \:D/ I removed the whole dash and replaced all the bulbs. This is the carnage of the removed dash. Was quite straight forward really. http://i315.photobucket.com/albums/ll446/mwilkinson01/IMG_1812_zps260e0a02.jpg http://i315.photobucket.com...

Re: Project Beater - 1993 GT - T-Bar N/A

Update time: Well I had an interesting weekend. It's official my car is a beater. Hence forth she shall be known as such and the project to get her back to glory shall be Project Beater!! I managed to remove the old alternator but found that there was no lower bolt on the bracket. Thus the alternato...

Good to hear she will be fixed up though. Atleast you have a nice solid shell too. I bought this one as the owner looked like he took lots of care, said it was all solid and undersealed every year. I got home dug off the underseal and and found a huge hole in my floor. Also the entire inner rear ar...
