Wow that was a mess! Looked like a game of cats cradle more than stereo wiring. You are a braver man than me that is for sure!

Also is anyone travelling up on friday from the South East that wants to meet up on the way or is there already a convoy arranged?

All i wanted to do was fit a stereo and get the speakers working as it seems a shame to have a total of 6+sub and only two working. My prev MK2 had an active system that worked and it did sound pretty good. As you say though, i am a complete novice with car electrics so will leave it for the moment....

Can someone bring some red dulux for my Mk2's front bumper as it is two tone red/white at the moment.

Or i have a spare working one up for sale.

I have been trying to get all my speakers working as only the door ones do. Today was the day to have a look at all the wiring and see what was up. Addictive this MR2 lark.

I had this happen on and old Vauxhall I had. CAT actually failed on it so needed to get it replaced. Exactly the same symptoms that you described though.

So today i had a look under the car to check the sills and they have some surface rust on them so will be sorting this out at the weekend.
