Re: [Mk2] [NA] Help needed - Butchered active system and no idea where to start!!

All i wanted to do was fit a stereo and get the speakers working as it seems a shame to have a total of 6+sub and only two working. My prev MK2 had an active system that worked and it did sound pretty good. As you say though, i am a complete novice with car electrics so will leave it for the moment....

Re: Just bought an MR 2

Welcome! :thumleft: As far as the N/A goes, it is possible to tune and upgrade the engine but you will be looking at paying mega money for it. The is a section about tuning the 3sge engine posted in the forum recently so take a look at that for some inspiration. (sorry cannot link as on the iPhone c...

[Mk2] [NA] Help needed - Butchered active system and no idea where to start!!

I have been trying to get all my speakers working as only the door ones do. Today was the day to have a look at all the wiring and see what was up. This is what i came across: Passenger side pillar speaker: What has been cut and electrical taped up? http://i603.photobucket.com/albums/tt112/chloke83/...

Re: Project on a budget - sort of

So today i finally finished decorating the living room \:D/ !! This enabled me to start doing bits on the car that i have been waiting all week to do. The plan was to paint the Autopista centre panel, sort out the surface rust on the sills and get it fitted then have a look at the active audio syste...

I had this happen on and old Vauxhall I had. CAT actually failed on it so needed to get it replaced. Exactly the same symptoms that you described though.

Car runs fine (or as fine as a 21 year old car would) so will ignore it then.

I am based in Crawley.

Re: Project on a budget - sort of

So today i had a look under the car to check the sills and they have some surface rust on them so will be sorting this out at the weekend. Not the most difficult of jobs but i did get a bit of a nasty surprise when i was looking at the gearbox bottom. It was covered in oil and looked like it had bee...
