Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Clutch weight

Brilliant mate, if you could weigh the housing and then the disc that would be great. I want to know the difference between the oem and my new heavy duty disc and housing, thank :thumleft:

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Twin Scroll Turbos

Turns out you need to keep the two chambers apart and not let them mix, or you lose the pulse in the exhaust flow. So you need two wastegates. The CT20 has two separate ports behind it's wastegate to prove this point. Not sure I can be ar$ed now :eye:

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Twin Scroll Turbos

Has to be external wastegate, so that's a problem.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Twin Scroll Turbos

Can we use our standard exhaust manifolds to run a twin scroll turbo? like a Garrett GTX3067. I realise you would have to make or buy a, Our manifold to a t3 with a divide in it adaptor. But if you had one of them would it work. I keep reading the best way to spool up fast is to have a twin scroll, ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] pre-rads.....extra fan required?

You should fit a nicely engineered, easily accessed drain that will allow you to empty off your hot/warm Red forlife into a bucket. Then you can fill it back up with ice cold water for each run. Then at the end of the day put the red back in. keep enough in the system at each change that you keep th...

Re: Turbo Blocks

To many little things that you need to research and change with the 5s block, like what water pump. Do you drill out the block to suit the 3s head or just use the head gasket that ATS make, Do you really need oil squirters etc etc. Would be great if someone could do a definitive wright up on how to ...

Re: Turbo Blocks

Turned out not to be the stronger block. Would not have known if not for that advice about the squared off edge by the water pump, so thanks again. I'v been told that a week point is between cylinders 2 and 3.

Was that the one Jim, It was that long ago I can't remember. I would have to take mine out to look at it, but I'm sure you are right. I drilled a hole in my st205 charge cooler and had a threaded bung welded on. fitted it just before the rubber neck on the throttle body. Works really well.

Turbo Blocks

Got the chance to buy a rev5 turbo block and head with the strengthened water pump area. I'm just not sure that I'll be able to tell if it's a rev3 or rev5 by looking at that. any other ways to tell the difference, or has anyone got a picture of the rev3 pump area and the rev5 stronger pump area. Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Stuff on the net

It's knocking because all rev3 turbos with the usual mods of air filter, exhaust, de-cat, st205 charge cooler and wolbro pump knock at that sort of power, 280ish at 1.1bar. Some get 300hp at 1.2bar, but they all hit their limits around this kind of boost and hp area, I'm sure you'll all agree. The m...
