I was wondering how much play/movment is acceptable on these arms before the bushes should be replaced. I found that I could twist the arm by hand a fair bit near the hub end. Is this normal?

It depends what type of rubber you use (oem or generic) the generic one is fitted to the glass the glass is bonded to the car. The OEM one is the same or can be fitted after (according to the autoglass man)

Yep. When I spoke to him I did check it was the switch not the sensor. so should all be good. If not then it will just be a faf returning it.

Well the normally closed switch that stu mentioned seems to make sense as mine is an NA and the fans do turn off when I short the sensor. I have checked the relays and they seem ok as well. So the fans on the rad are running at full wak from ignition. Reading previous posts it seems to point to a faulty rad temp sensor.
