Re: Track car with a low budget | Powered by Adaptronic

It's been a while with no updates so thought it's time. This time about downpipe and loose turbo bolts. Previous season was the time of changing turbo gaskets. I changed 3 of them if I remember correctly. First track day, couple of hot laps and I noticed drop in boost and leak sound. Stopped to pits...

Re: £118 Distributor Cap??

I was using non-OEM caps on N/A and Turbo engines without problems untill I installed standalone ECU. With non-OEM cap (YEC brand I think) and standalone ECU problems started. In short, tacho was jumping and car hesitated sometimes. Went back to used OEM and car runs great.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oil and water temps on track - what do you see?

I get 120C after a few laps and even more after few more laps (130C or so). But it was only once, I don't run for so long until I have an oil cooler. I am running on 10W60 oil. Water temps are above 100C I think. I raised water temp rev limit to 110C and it's ok. Stock gauge doesn't pass half so I s...

Re: Track car with a low budget | Powered by Adaptronic

OK just talked with a previous owner of intake manifold and he had the same problem. So now I know where to look. Firstly, I will make the same diameter pipe in a manifold for brake booster and will see how it goes. But still I can't understand how pressure enters the booster if there is a valve.

Re: Track car with a low budget | Powered by Adaptronic

Another day at track, another surprise. In short, I bought a used turbo kit and didn't check that oil return hose is not for oil, but for water. And probably not resistant to heat. It melt and started leaking oil. Fortunately it holded up just until the finish and gave up just after my last run. Lat...

Re: Blue smoke on a cold start. Forged pistons

OK than that's probably because of a too big piston to cylinder gap and it's burning oil until pistons expand. Thanks!

Re: Blue smoke on a cold start. Forged pistons

Long time from the last post here, but the topic is right. From the last time I posted here car is running very well and strong and it's far from death as somebody wrote. But still one thing is annoying me. And it will probably be due to larger piston to cylinder gap which I wrote here (current gap ...

Re: Track car with a low budget | Powered by Adaptronic

A bit of weekend's work. Finally finished door card template, now I just need to buy some plastic material and cut it. Also, improved an airflow for IC (well, I hope so). Removed impact bar, which helped to save a few kilos and cut the holes in a bumper, which also saved a few grams  Did so...

Re: Track car with a low budget | Powered by Adaptronic

Finally some race after a couple of years brake! And it went quite well, 1'st in 3000+ group and 2nd overall. I was quite careful during the first two runs and lost quite a lot of time then, but my third run was the best overall and here is the video of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOXgxU0iPk...

Re: Track car with a low budget | Powered by Adaptronic

Yesterday we had a first attempt of mapping. Apparently boost solenoid was connected wrong and it was overboosting. Also, after changing turbo and intake manifold my cruise AFR became very rich and it probably damaged spark plugs a bit as the car hesitated sometimes on boost. So we couldn't finish y...

It's been a while, Lukas. The car's looking awesome :thumleft: It's looking good just from a distance, but don't really care a lot about it as it's a race car  After car is mapped, next will be to fit front splitter, make a vented hood and fit polyurethane suspension plus do a good wheel g...

That was quite a long time since my last post! Car was mainly standing outsite unused, but finally I found some time and money to finish with a rear mount intercooler project. http://i.imgur.com/7U0AAXh.jpg http://i.imgur.com/mmjCtMt.jpg http://i.imgur.com/5uOTmTf.jpg http://i.imgur.com/c7wMJEl.jpg ...

I think I can do it, but + postage :)
I will include that straight pipe to IC and black elbow, but it's not the best if we would talk about aestethics :)

Sidefeed intake manifold from Celica gen4

For sale is Gen4 3sge Celica side feed intake manifold adapted for gen1-2 MR2 turbo. I am fitting boot mount IC so this one is no longer needed. Manifold is powder coated, everything is ready to fit and go. I will include 180deg bend which also has a place for IAT sensor. Also I can include straight...

Re: High fuel consumption | 3SGE

I can't think of anything else, so probably this will be the problem.
Wondering what's my best option now. I don't even want to think about taking fuel tank off again, it's terrible.
Is the only option to fit aftermarket fpr then? How about fitting 3sgte fpr?
