Re: Rev1 - I think - MR2 Turbo Project
Haven't really done much recently, been gathering info and have started a menial job working for Halfords, not ideal but it's getting me out of the house. After a lengthy and very informative call to Peter @ Sbits (absolutely top bloke) I had a think over plans and eventually after a short search ha...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] Potential Oil light related black death
Cold oil level should be 3/4 to allow the oil level in the sump to drop with circulting oil and temperture.
Sounds like its simply a little too low.![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)

Re: Rev1 - I think - MR2 Turbo Project

Now im possibly looking for a 3sGTE crank as im edging towards building my engine, but currently only have 2 scored cranks ...

Re: Rev1 - I think - MR2 Turbo Project
...Should've just bought a white one!! Lovely work mate, lovely. The wheels are an excellent choice too, it'll look great when it's all done. Begs the question - keeping the standard engine...? This car was £300, the paint is £80 :D also i get to learn. Engine wise; Rev3+ Big Valve, ported and poli...

Re: Rev1 - I think - MR2 Turbo Project
Thanks for the support, The wheels, haven't cost me too much as i bought them as 2 pairs and i waited 10 months to find the complete set. Having said that, look closely the fronts are Meister S1 and the rear are Meister S2, the rears are split rims, the front not. Beggars can't be choosers. I have p...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Different Rev Turbo brakes
I took measurements, the later cars brakes appear to be 20mm larger diameter.
Also compared the calipers and the numbers are different.

Does this sound about right? My Rev2 came on standard 15s but the rev1 came on Nissan 300zx 16" wheels, which have now been removed.![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)

Re: Tyre hitting spring cup. Why?
Worn bushes can cause movement but as the hub is fixed to the strut they should move as one piece.

Most likely is that the wheel bearing is the cause of the play
- but a finger is a lot.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Also possibly the bolts holding the hub in place come loose? Doesn't seem likely though.![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)

Re: Rev1 - I think - MR2 Turbo Project
Thank you All. So far i'm finding the site a very welcoming place. Does anyone have any advice for budget brake upgrades? I also have an N/A Rev2 Parts Donor but tbh for an extra 20mm? I'm not sure i want to go that route, especially as the Discs and pads need replacing on that one anyway. Also can ...
