Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Top mount intercooler

Problem is now, every sod got an auto Audi or BMW with launch control that a 3 year old can drive.
You'll likely loose every heads up which won't make it fun if you have a bad launch.

Perhaps I'm getting old and bitter.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Top mount intercooler

Coldest because you don't have a downpipe running to the side like the drivers side. Only things in that area is an fuel filter and start motor. No room for other corners because of the strut towers. Likely reason ATS went there. Let me know when you break an 11, who knows, I may try my luck again t...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Top mount intercooler

i only meant size in relation to most front mounts (on other cars), youd hope a smaller core was fairly cheap. i guess your paying for the development costs. passenger side is the coldest side, so as long as you got a fan, lid open when in queue, prob not too bad. lay some ice on it, now theres an i...

scandalous, for sure. wouldnt catch me spending over £1k+ on such a small intercooler with off the shelf pipework and couplers.

Re: Why are MR2 Turbos still undervalued?

I'm currently selling my Rev 3 turbo, which I think is a decent example among very few that appear for sale. I can count only 2 other half decent ones since I listed mine listed October. However I'm shocked at how little interest I've had and not only that I've had multiple people telling me quite ...

Re: Average AFR numbers from Rev3 3SGTE?

If you're on stock ecu, then afrs should be deep into the low 10s by redline. They do run pretty rich on boost. By 3-5-4k (wot) should be into 11s at least and into 10s past 4.5-5k ish. Pretty much any time out of boost should be around 14.4-14.7 area. I'd be looking at checking your fuel pressure, ...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Bit smokey?

Bad turbo seals (smoke) usually show up after long hot idles. And by hot, after a hot run (not a warm up on the driveway). Smoke would be blue in colour. Having to crank up ebc more and more could be a case of ECU pulling back a bit of timing because of a few knock events, something to do with less ...

If high imp, and red top, it's likely these are 850s, as found on the rx7.
Would also require a rail adapter to fit.

Re: fuel in turbo activator

Fuel pressure is attached via banjo bolts, so will likely be a return line hooked up wrong.

Follow your return lines from the fuel rail, this should go back straight to the tank.

I wouldn't like to speculate damage caused, but thankfully fuel evaporates quickly.

Nice to see someone getting it back to her former glory. (If possible).

Should have never sold it.
Genuine JDM Rev5 GT Turbo.

Think these are from pre 2010.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Oil sandwich plate

These are a pain to get out, make sure you have a proper Allen ratchet tool, an Allen key won't cut it, I had to put a 2foot breaker bar to them. Ha! Well worth doing though over a sandwich plate as you don't need to touch the oil filter and loose some oil. Those galleries don't have any oil that hi...

Re: Noble M12 GTO-3R...

How does it compare to the Mr2? On another level? I'm always on the eye out for what could be my next car as it has been 6years with mine. Always trying to justify cost vs fun in an upgrade. Does a Turbo mr2 still scratch that itch? Similar, but different in a number of ways. The Noble does feel li...

Re: Noble M12 GTO-3R...

Small update, first years ownership has gone without a hitch, 4k miles over mostly B roads, a dyno day, few meets and an open pit day at Brands Hatch. Fresh full service and MOT ready for another year. Few tweaks here any there... Exhaust manifolds inevitably gave out, both cracked at the collector,...

If things don't look like they are flowing, usually large air pocket in there.
I had to open the bleed valve on the pre rad to get anywhere.
