Re: Big flatspot on Bluetop 4AGE- but I think I might have an idea
Thanks for the clarification of the switches. The unit i have only has 7 dip switches, i will have to see if they correlate to meaningful settings against the 10 switch version. there is also no mention of the adjustment pot or what the led indicates (there are holes cut in the cover to allow access...

Re: Big flatspot on Bluetop 4AGE- but I think I might have an idea
sorry to bump an old thread but i finally got around to reading out the eprom on this and might be of interest to some. looks like there are two maps in it, switchable from the dip switches i think. I will probably do a follow up video soon and look where the address lines of the eprom go to. https:...

Re: Lauren's AE86. Pics on page 13.
have no issue posting the ecu to you, i dont have or know anyone who has an eprom reader (other than you) i'm afraid i'm sure though if it's in your hands you'd look after it! I would have thought you would need to see the entire pcb to understand it's workings? i cba to desolder it, if your interes...

Re: Lauren's AE86. Pics on page 13.
Well it's an interesting car and (to me) an interesting ECU, Lauren :) Assuming the ROM code is still mostly original Denso code I could probably tell from the binary file what the switches do. My guess is that they switch in different ROM images because the 27C256 EPROM is capable of holding up to...

Re: check connector terminals
terminals inside the check connector relate to the pin names of the ECU, they simply give you easy access to common signal lines

Re: Big flatspot on Bluetop 4AGE- but I think I might have an idea
i would also say that it could be a generic copy of a cusco board given the lack of the cusco supplied replacement front cover. Unlike ours which is simply bolted to the back of the stock cover with some spacers. There are also differences with the switches, ours has less than the cusco mfe i'm goin...

Re: Big flatspot on Bluetop 4AGE- but I think I might have an idea
thanks paul
the sensor from my old mr2 looks to be dead completly
i am going to wait until we get our replacement ecu and then retest everything again
it's the same part as the GZE sensor and is a 1v sensor

Re: Big flatspot on Bluetop 4AGE- but I think I might have an idea
tbh i had considered that the piggyback might be keeping it in open loop and hence the sensor signal not looking like it should (sluggushly moving within a narrow range)
we have a backup (stock) ecu on the way and a spare sensor, so we should be able to figure out whats what

Re: Big flatspot on Bluetop 4AGE- but I think I might have an idea
tbh i didn't check properly and failed to take proper pics... ...i thought the black and red wires were just for additional ground a power lines in addition to the ones from the CPU socket, i should have paid more attention going by the charts it's the OX line, but looks like i can see IDL (idle swi...

Re: Big flatspot on Bluetop 4AGE- but I think I might have an idea
have nothing to dump eproms sorry am a little annoyed actually, i was hoping it would be a standard ecu so we could put a unichip or something similar on it... i guess it shouldn't be too hard to find a stock one we can use. If you refit a stock ECU you might have rev limiter issues. If it's cammed...

Re: SUPERCHARGER ECU QUESTION ???
if they are both auto ecu's then i cant think of any reason why it shouldn't work...
not sure if you can use a manual ecu on an auto, i know you can do it the other way around though... but iirc some of the timing is different, maybe to stop it stalling and maintain correct idle /justguessing
