Goodbye MR2 mk1 world!

I recently gave up on my MR2 mk1 after owning it for 8 years, and I do miss it. It got too rusty to keep but til the end it was a fantastic car to drive and I think unrivalled for the cost of ownership. So I'm no longer in the MR2 mk1 gang but thanks to everyone in this community for keeping me enth...

Helios Blue Mk1 for sale - spares or repair - Cheshire

17th Jan 08. I'm reluctantly giving up my mk1. This car is used daily and drives very well. The body work is not good and is the reason I am selling. There is one month left on the MOT and 7 months tax (worth £105). There are lots of parts you could strip from this car - mongoose exhaust, TSW alloys...

Re: MK1 MR2 G REG £1000

i test drove this car and almost bought it. I would agree that it drives really well - nicer than mine. I think anyone not put off by fixing the bodywork - most significantly corrosion at the bottom of the A pillars, and a few other (minor) bits that weren't mentioned before I went to see it - will ...

Recommendations for MR2 garage in south manchester / cheshire?

I'm looking for a body shop, preferably an mr2 specialist, to fix my sill, door and wheel arches and give the whole car a respray. I want a good job doing, that will last. Does anyone have any recommendations / contacts in south manchester - cheshire area?
Cheers, Nick

thanks for that martG. The general consensus seems to be - get it fixed! I will look into getting second hand door etc. If it get's too time consuming, I'll be back here next week to flog it! Cheers for all the info. Nick

Here's a better photo of the side damage - you can see it defo needs the sill straightening out, the door fixing, and the skirts replacing. I can't afford this right now so, I might sell cheap it to someone who can.

Yeah, I am so loathed to go thru insurance cos you end up paying for it anyway in your next premium. I could keep but I'd still have to get work done on the sill which I think was the main issue, and I cant afford to. What would it go for as scrap/spares dya think? Cheers for the advice..

What shall I do? I had a very low impact with a bollard on the drivers side door which has removed the trim, dented the door and sill of my otherwise lovely Mk1! Yes very annoying! The body shop say it will be an insurance write-off cos new doors and sills aren't available and because the car was on...

Re: Rusty wheel arches MK1 - North West England

Thanks guys.

I got in touch with Jim Ledden who's in the middle of setting up a unit north of Ormskirk. He reckons he'll be factoring his own wheel arches within a few months. I'll let you know how we get on...

Rusty wheel arches MK1 - North West England

Can anyone recommend a decent body shop in the Cheshire/Manchester area who is familiar with MK1 MR2s?? I want a proper job that'll last!

Cheers
