Re: [Mk2] [NA] Radiators

anyone ever fathom why the import has a smaller radiator? i mean the JDM cars will have to deal with a warmer climate than the UK ones.

Also is the UK rad any better than the JDM one? i mean i'm pushing a bit above stock outta my car and have no cooling issues, i'm just wondering :)

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Melted Pistons

i have heard they are based on a rather old garret design and do not boost all that quickly, but are apparently other than that very good gains for the money

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Melted Pistons

mate that turbo is MUCH more efficient than the stocker item, your 440's would have been maxxed out ages before the fuelling was correct, thats been lean since that turbo was fitted, your engines stock management will not account for that turbo so even at stock boost it was most likely running lean....

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] apex ecu?

shove some octante booster in there and see how the car runs, sounds like as everyone else has said the octane has been brought down by the cheap fuel mixing with the good fuel :)

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Move the Fuel Tank?

Surely having the fuel tank directly between the front and rear axles is the best place for it? i.e. its always in the middle and regardless of fuel level its not going to upset the balance? i.e. if you put it in the front when the car is full of petrol it will handle different to when its low on pe...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Effects of a lighter flywheel?

Cool, sounds like fun, think i'm going to go with an HKS or JUN one, the tuner i'm using has seen a few fidanza's warp, so he's asked that unless i particulalry want a fidanza to go for a chromoly item - i'm not fussed so i'll go with his judgement :)

Re: [All] [Generic] Which ECU would you choose from the list below and why?

Cool, thats a relief, they probably will end up at about 0.5% for idle then? my 540's sit at about 0.9-1.1 depending on the cars mood lol

Re: [All] [Generic] Which ECU would you choose from the list below and why?

i've got a set of 850's waiting to be fitted to my car (denso's) will they affect the idle or are they small enough that the car will behave?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Effects of a lighter flywheel?

i know of a few lads in the vauxhall circle who have done that, i think you could probably save some weight but probably not too much before it would end up too weak to save loads because the material used is heavier than the aftermarket ones

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Effects of a lighter flywheel?

Hmm i thought the fidanza ones were lighter than the chromoly ones?

How much does a fidanza one for a 3S-GTE weight?

Looking at the chromoly ones they seem about the 5.5Kg mark

Confusing stuff, i always blip on up and downchanges to try to RPM match, this will obviously require to recalibrate my right foot lol as for AC well, mine leaks so only works for about 3 days at a time before needing a recharge ha ha, i'll need to get that seen to. i heard from a tuner the whole th...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Effects of a lighter flywheel?

Out of interest guys i've been looking around the net at lighter flywheels (cause my clutch will need doing soon) and i know a lighter flywheel will make the engine rev free-er However how does it affect the decereration of the car when coasting? How does it affect acceleration of the car? How does ...

the subaru one is better, but not by masses, what year of car was it from i know the classics used an IHI one the TD05 but be from a newer car? Anyway if your getting given it then go for it, but it will require a new manifold to be made up to mate it to the engine and a custom downpipe also :) Mayb...
