Re: eccentric rod guide kit, free to a good home
I found the spray went everywhere, so sprayed into a cloth then rubbed on. But yeah, the rubber seals. iirc there's seals fixed around the roof that the glass sits on and another on the tbar itself for the window glass to butt into. I repeated several times over a couple of weeks. If that doesn't wo...

eccentric rod guide kit, free to a good home
Hi all, I sold my Mk2 turbo 3 years ago, when isofix became my motoring priority, but just found a package of parts for the eccentric rod guide conversion to fix the leaking t-bar. I never got round to installing them as several doses of silicone spray did a good enough job. As per: http://www.imoc....

Should be.
I'm just waiting for the buyer to come and complete the deal.
I'll
'finalize' the sale on this thread once the car is gone and I have all the money.

1994 Rev3 Turbo T-Bar (unmodified car)
I've had this car for 2 years and had £12k miles of fun, especially when the sun's out and the roof's off, but I'm just not using it since I became a dad. Hence it's up for sale... £1900 1994 Toyota MR2 Rev3 Turbo T-Bar 89k (all miles) MOT Jan2014, Tax Jun2013 1 previous UK owner Red - looks good bu...

Re: Getting wheels to a track day
Thanks for the offer Gee Man but I'm going to keep looking closer to home for now. loudandproud205 - I'd love to see a picture of 2 in the frunk. Did you take the battery out or something? I tried this weekend and I can't see how you'd ever get more than one in :-k 2 in the boot fitted snuggly tho, ...

Getting wheels to a track day
Hi folks, I'm just lining up my first track day since getting my mr2 and am a bit worried about destroying the rear tyres too much so I won't be able to drive home on them. Mate with a 200SX takes a complete set of 4 spares but I'm not even sure I could get 2 on the passenger seat (will give it a tr...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Noise on overrun
Yeah, the idling noise is when parked and goes away when I press the clutch pedal.
I'd better talk to the garage.
This feels expensive

I'm sorry to hear about your problems.
Sounds bizarre.
Is something loose inside the engine bay or wheel arch?

[Mk2] [Turbo] Noise on overrun
Hi folks. This is my first post for my new car (rev3 turbo). The Mk1 shown on my profile was alas overcome by the rust. Anyway, I have a new car and a new problem which I hope someone can help with. I get a harsh noise (rattling/grinding?) on overrun and to a lesser extent when idling in neutral. No...

Re: Guildford midnight run*special* rally
Just stumbled across this post somehow while searching for wheel arch repairs. Sounds great. Is the event open to anyone? If you're looking for somewhere with ample parking and away from civilisation (well for Surrey anyway), there's some decent sized car parks in the woods near Peaslake. Don't know...

Re: EURO BREAKDOWN COVER HELP NEEDED
I just spent a week driving round SW Ireland in the MR2. RAC did me 1 week's cover for £56, but that did include 10% members discount and an extra 10% for their Rugby World Cup promotion. More than I'd like to pay, but cheap compared to the cost if something does go wrong. However, did see in the sm...

Escort sills work well
I used Mk2 or 3 (think they're the same) Escort sills, for the 3 door models. There's various threads on how to do it, but this one is pretty good. http://forums.twobrutal.com/showthread.php?t=2564 There's a picture that (sort of) explains how to cut the escort sill to fit. They're not a perfect mat...

Re: Sill Repaired (Lots of photos)
There was no real rot like the outer, so I just wire brushed off the loose stuff as best I could and then fired in Waxoyl once the patch was in place.
Probably not as good a job as could be done, but I figure that it should be much drier in there now and the metal should last a good many years.

No, unless I'm missing something.

I think it was bought off Amazon's second hand section for about
£10.

Sill Repaired (Lots of photos)
It's a while back that I posted on asking for information on repairing my sills. I've been busy since so never got a chance to post the images, but here they are. Also put on the new front wings. http://www.tooting4.plus.com/IMG_0401.JPG http://www.tooting4.plus.com/IMG_0402.JPG http://www.tooting4....

BX GTi - fantastic! My first car was a BX and I absolutely loved it. The styling is out of this world and my turbo-deisel was faster than my mates' first cars - fiestas etc, and used more water than fuel (sort of). The Gti 16v was a 1.9 with 160Bhp, 0-60 in about 7 seconds I think. Oh how I used to ...

Re: Sill repair
Thanks for that link.
I feel much better prepared, and I'm sure mine's not that bad.
(Of course I won't actually know til get in there with the grinder.
)

If I could get it done for
£100-150 a side it's tempting, but still a lot of money I don't have.

Thanks for the help.

Sill repair
Having discovered a huge hole in the driver's side sill I am going to attempt to fit escort outer sills. The join between inner/outer sill running along the bottom of the car is pretty bad on both sides so I think replacement is better than welding in patches. I am going into this armed only with a ...
