Re: Rev 3 turbo tbar in red for sale £2500

Not currently for sale at the moment unless someone is prepared to give full price.

Decided its worth keeping her for a bit longer thro the summer. In the meantime i may get the drivers seat repaired, and she will be available probably towards the end of the summer again.

Rev 3 turbo tbar in red for sale £2500

Will possibly be selling my turbo that i have owned for 7 years. Its a red 1996 t-bar. I have owned the car since 38K on the clock. It has 108K on the clock but mostly motorway miles as it has been used as my daily car. The car has had regular oil changes every 5000 miles either by myself or sometim...

Re: Help anyone?? bonnet doesnt open??

If your very careful you might be able to open the bonnet with a little encouragement with something like a screwdriver to lever the bonnet open from the front while someone pulls the lever from inside the car.

Mongoose noise at cruising speed is absolutely horrible, i know because i have one.

Sounds fine at idle and variable driving tho.

Re: Nissan Siliva S15--- anyone got any experiences of them?

Have you driven one? I'm guessing not Yes, but why guess when I'd already said that I had. You'd also have read that I said if "rear wheel action" is what you were after, the S14/S15 is a better bet. Ask yourself this, why is the S1x used in professional drifting, where the MR2 rarely(if ...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Installing aftermarket induction kit [JOB DONE]

Induction kits on the Mr2 turbo dont really add any additional bhp whatsoever, the standard airbox does not become a restriction to tuning until around the 500 bhp mark. What the induction kit does is pull in more air but at the expense of hotter air and as a result the difference is neglible at mos...

Re: BK299 Alloys - any good??

Could try some team dynamics pro race 1.2s.

These are a fairly light weight wheel, look pretty good and are not too expensive.

Re: Warm MR2 turbo - effortlessly fast but ......boring?

Its not always about what is legal and what isnt, but rather what is considered morally safe.

Driving a car at 100 mph on a motorway is illegal but not always dangerous.

Driving a car within the speed limit but exceeding its grip is probably not illegal, but does that still make it safe and right?

Re: Warm MR2 turbo - effortlessly fast but ......boring?

There is one thing tho..most people do not drive their car to the max on the track. Many just have the odd spirited drive on a suitable road, and in these conditions the breakaway handling of the car is irrelevant. What is important is how the cars road holding, grip and body roll translate into a s...

Re: Warm MR2 turbo - effortlessly fast but ......boring?

The whole point of this thread is that although his golf has less power, he can use all of it, all of the time. You cant do that in an MR2 or you'll end up dead. I'm positive sticking a set of 285's on the back will help grip. A lot, but you still aint gonna go round a bend with all 220-245bhp (sta...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Sensor that controls temp gauge

There is a black sensor plug thats on the opposite side to the green coolant sensor that seems to be playing up. My dash temp gauge stopped working for a bit and i found this sensor and gave it a wiggle and it started working again. Think i might get a new one, but not sure what the sensor is called...

Caster angle different on both sides.

Just had my 4 wheel allignment done and toe and camber were all reset to what they should be, but it was noted that the caster angle was almost a degree difference from one side to the other. This wasnt adjustable so they couldnt do anything with it, but what is the most likely cause so I can work o...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Car bogging down/sluggish on boost, please help

When you mentioned the spluttering tick over some other possibility popped into my head. I had a similiar problem on mine a while back and eventually found one of the small vacuum hoses near the throttle body to have a split in it. Was causing my tickover to be erratic when stationary and my fuel co...

Those 530d's have shed loads of torque iirc. Once moving i bet they can really push on. Yes they have, I was behind one yesterday coming back from Dumfries, he probably though "ah a kidd on ferrari here we go  ). He floored it (I take it), I was  at the way he dissapeared. I thoug...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Car bogging down/sluggish on boost, please help

Many possiblities. 1. Could try looking at other ignition components like cap/rotor arm/leads if they havent been replaced in last 12-18 months. 2. Also check the ignition timing making sure its 10 degrees, theres a post on knowledge base how to do this. 3. Check for ecu error codes and/try resettin...
