Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Reducing the noise from Exhaust and Decat

I set off two car alarms yesterday with the deep drone from my down pipe! Considering that's with a quieter exhaust I am definitely a bit shocked  Call me old but I like more bite less bark not vice versa. But, I'm learning to live with it as all is forgiven when you put your foot down and th...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Reducing the noise from Exhaust and Decat

As you say I do miss the standard sleeper effect i.e. effortless (and noiseless) performance on tap. It went a lot faster than it sounded and now it sounds a lot faster than it goes (even though it does feel faster) if that makes sense :D I don't think it's the mongoose exhaust making all the noise,...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Reducing the noise from Exhaust and Decat

This is true.. I may swap the downcat to an original cat with gutted internals to get some quietness back.. or I may just stick it out and man up

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Reducing the noise from Exhaust and Decat

Thanks for that, I was thinking of a bung but ideally I don't want to limit performance. Was thinking of replacing the decat with a gutted original CAT (something Luke at Pacific did recommend). But I would lose some performance and the original CAT weighs a tonne! Are there any other solutions or i...

[Mk2] [Turbo] Reducing the noise from Exhaust and Decat

I recently purchased my rev 2 tubby and am loving every minute of it. I have just replaced the stock air intake with an Apexi induction kit, fitted a CAT replacement down pipe and a mongoose exhaust (bought this as it looks fairly stock and was under the impression that it was a fairly quiet exhaust...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Rev 2 Turbo Exhaust and Downpipe gaskets

That's great thanks guys, I'll give toyota a call now. I wasn't aware they'd stock parts for an import mr2 turbo.

Do they have a website where you can look up parts etc?

[Mk2] [Turbo] Rev 2 Turbo Exhaust and Downpipe gaskets

I recently purchased a new exhaust and decat downpipe. Probably going to get a local garage to fit them for me. Question is where can I get the appropriate gaskets to fit all the pieces in place? Also, is there anything that I am missing that they will need for fitting as well? I'm guessing I'll nee...

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Exhausts

That's an excellent and comprehensive response. Thanks do much!

Will keep an eye out for that exhaust as well as a legalis something R or rather another rare exhaust that is not massively loud and the pipes aren't overly massive.

[Mk2] [Turbo] Exhausts

I've used the search function but not really found what I was after. So thought I'd ask the experts :D I have a rev 2 Turbo (not sure if that makes a difference) and this is what I'm after.. a S/S twin exit exhaust that is not massively loud. Also, with tail pipes that are pretty much of stock width...

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] Bodykit or No Bodykit?

Some really great advice their guys. My cars paintwork is really good and te bodywork is mint, I've just put on the equips and it looks great (I'll hopefully post a photo later) so I think the standard colour coding is the way to go for me. Though mind you those rs2000 skirts look really good too, a...
