You don't mean to say after all these mods your still on rev1 brakes? Nice work with the rain tray by the way fella. R Yup - brand new Toyota Rev1 calipers, braided hoses, custom brake lines, cusco brake stopper, decent pads and discs, etc... I think people under estimate how good rev1 kit is on de...

Re: [FINALIZED] Beams SW20 / £3000
Very very cheap now
If I wasn't so set on buying a supercharger for my car along with a few other trick bits I would be tempted to buy this as a spare MR2. IMO it's worth more than that all day long, if even to dry store it as an investment!!

Right... We have already established that rain water and alternators are a bad mix! So I needed to stop those two mixing  I refused to drive the car out of my garage with my new expensive alternator fitted if there was a chance of it getting wet as I'd be right back to square one. I had been pl...

Firstly let me say that today the car has gone for a short drive and the new wheels/tyres make the handling far sharper and the ride is so so much comfier. It's transformed how the car feels and what it's like to be inside/behind the wheel. Definitely a good move :thumleft: Today I planned to replac...

Well there's been a few developments so far today: First the postman delivered a new thing of engine oil as my oil was low. I bought it from Opie Oils and was very pleased with the service and price they provided... Not to mention they gave me a free air freshener  http://i1111.photobucket....

Can your cousin get himself a good lawyer and call the coppers to account? Well, racing takes two, doesn't it? It does imply complicity in the act of "racing" on some level. If the cop didn't also give it the beans then it's just a case of speeding, unless of course the copper is willing ...

Re: **UPDATED** 1991 Rev 1 (Beastly V6 1MZ-FE VVTI) **UPDATED**
Well I had lots of issues finding the correct alternator especially as I need it as soon as possible. I've only recently found out but it's considered a particularly rare part and is usually only stocked in a few places in Japan or the States. There are several very similar alternators although only...

The follow up question would be do they get line dried, radiator dried or tumble drier dried. My tumbler doesn't have a matt setting either... Maybe I've got poverty spec white goods

Re: Best insurance policy for under-25s
I'm with Adrian Flux - it's not the cheapest price in the world but I've got a highly modified car with a large V6 dropped in there. Plus I've got protected no claims bonus, hire car, legal protection, medical protection, an agreed value policy and they even have a seperate insurance policy on my ex...

Out of interest what sort of mats was this?
I wouldn't want to destroy my man in dandism ones by trying it but would be tempted just to freshen up the look of an old set of mats
Also it sounds stupid but what temperature did you use?

Old multimeter has now been binned and I've got an all singing all dancing one
Damn alternator
At least it's an easy home job - the issue will be the amount of room available to try and remove it against the firewall without lifting the engine out

Re: Car won't start - ideas/help... ***UPDATE - STILL FUBARRED!!***
Update - managed to buy a new multimeter tonight and ran it in line with the battery, it measured 0.28A which is significant drain on the battery. Unplugged every fuse hoping it was one of them. It wasn't. Eventually I plucked up the courage to unplug my alternator and try it again. The reading drop...

Thanks one and all :thumleft: An original 3sfe lump you say.... Now that's an idea :-k  I think that the wheels I'm getting are pretty much the same weight (maybe a little heavier) than rev5 wheels. The rears are roughly 7.5kg and the fronts are around 6.8kg so not massively heavy. Should make ...

Re: [Mk2] [NA] rusty / seized bolts Mk2
plus gas, a decent set of 6 sided sockets and a decent quality breaker bar is about all you should need for most bolts on a '2 +1 Although for the suspension bolts I found the best method was a blow torch and a bloody big breaker bar as some of those bolts are rather large and very seized  For...

Forgot to add - when I remove the wheels on the 20th I will pressure wash them. I will then polish and wax the alloys and fully dress they tyres so they will be like new

What are the widths and offsets of the wheels? What make/model are the tyres? Can you add pics of the kerbing? Do the wheels rub the arches etc? I don't have the width and offset details to hand as I'm not at home at the moment... They will be in the link just above my pictures though :thumleft: Wh...

The main issue I've experienced so far is that I can't source an alternator even if that is the issue. Nowhere seems to have one, GSF, Eurocarparts, etc... I don't really want to be ripped off by Lexus. Can anyone suggest where I can get hold of an alternator? Your local alternator specialist shoul...

Re: Car won't start - ideas/help... ***UPDATE - STILL FUBARRED!!***
I tried my multimeter on something else this evening and it worked fine but still reads 0 on the car. It turns out that someone else that I know had a similar issue with their multimeter but they used an analog one and it worked fine. I will try to source an analogue multimeter now to do the tests I...
