This seems to be the cheapest rev 3 trubo about, is that putting people off? It's a very clean car with good service history.
I guess its just the time of year.
For sale is my 1995 MR2 GT Turbo (Rev 3) tin top. 87K miles with full stamped service history and a load of other invoices and receipts. I bought the car with 79K on the clock when it had a service at Rogue Motorsports (oil, filter, plugs, dizzy cap, rotor arm) and then I have changed the oil again ...
Just changed my fronts on Monday. The two bolts for the caliper are 14mm and the two for the carrier are 17mm. I would recommend that you use a socket set that has hexagon sockets rather than the other type that have lots of smaller grooves as these can easily cause the nuts to be rounded off.
I weighed a rear rev 5 wheel last night and it came in at 7.1 kg. I couldn't weigh the fronts as they are at my folks house. I guess they would be just a little lighter so pretty much identical to rev 2/3 wheels. Possibly no coincidence they weigh the same as earlier wheels as toyota wanted their ch...
I have some rev 5 wheels at home with no tyres, i will weigh them tonight and get back. I thnk they are definatley heavier than 6kg more like the 12kg you suggested.
Yes 1 bar is fine, standard boost is .85-.9 bar anyway. I would get a aftermarket exhaust and decat and maybe an intercooler/charge cooler and you can run up to 1.2 bar.
When you get a toyota one it specifies the engine codes it's for on the side of the box. It will say 3sgte and a few other engines including the 4age. Its about £7 if i remember.
Alternator belts which 'burn off' are normally due to a worn/sticking alternator pulley wheels. This is due to worn bearings - a common problem. Just putting a new belt on will probably be a waste of time as you probably need a re-con alternator as well. Best place to get one is http://www.tcbparts...
I would imagine he would get you off the line but not by much then you would probably catch and pass due to AWD transmission losses. However throw in some corners and he will probably be away.
Cheers guys. What sort of drain does the battery take after starting/while running. I don't think the battery on the car is the best and am worried about it cutting out. I only have a 15min drive though so hopefully it will be ok. I will try and do it in the day so no need for lights etc.
I got a call of my sister yesterday morning while she was driving her mr2. She said she could smell burning rubber and that all the lights on the dash have come on including the engine light, battery, oil pressure (she had only driven the car around 100mtrs). I told her to leave the car where it was...
There are a couple of places. Try the sellers on here (eg Sbits) or places like camskill or Twos r us. Also try fleabay. Theres always lots of talk about the after market replacements not been as good as the genuine Toyota parts but it's up to you.
I've done a search but can't seem to find the diameter of hose i need for the turbo to ebc and to/from the actuator. I guess it's about 5mm but does it matter if you use 6mm or 7mm? Is it better to get a smaller diameter or slightly larger?
I have seen several turbo timers come up for sale fairly cheaply. I understand that they keep the engine running after you have turned off the ignition for a set period of time. My great idea is to use one to let me defrost my car with the safety of my doors been locked. The problem is Im not sure ...
