Most ECU's I have seen have a waterproof seal on the casing and use waterproof connectors.

If you've soldered the wires that should eliminate any connection issues, although I've seen something similar in the past where somebody bought a second hand RLTC and the multi-way connectors were providing poor contact.

Yep, definitely need to resolve that. The should all start to increase steadily as car speed increases.

Have you got a laptop and connecting lead?
First thing I'd do is check to make sure all the speed sensors are reading correctly by looking at their traces on the laptop. If they all look fine then check the settings
